Returning after several years, the experience continues to be very positive despite the constant evolution of the menu over time. The sushi remains phenomenal, and the other dishes are also very interesting. The tuna and marrow dish has a very strong flavor, so I wouldn't recommend it to those with delicate palates. Excellent service and elegant decor.

I had very high expectations for this place, given the reviews and accolades it's received, but overall I'm giving it 3 stars. The quality of the ingredients is very high, but I noticed a lack of attention to detail in the presentation of certain dishes or drinks. For example, I would have expected a sake menu or a wider selection. The wagyu beef, which I'm told is from Kyoto, is okay, but you're still telling me very little. Unfortunately, the fried food was poorly fried, leaving each bite feeling greasy, even though the vegetables and shrimp were very fresh and high-quality. The mixed sushi included three different types of salmon, one of which was smoked. If you're promoting Japanese cuisine and serving sushi made at the table, I expect them to be more careful about the fish selection, and not include smoked salmon, even if it's excellent. Overall, the quality of the ingredients is remarkable, but for the type of sophisticated restaurant and, especially, for the price, I would have expected much more. So, for me, the 3 stars are a fair balance between service, ambiance, and product quality, compared to the price, and a few shortcomings, as well as, unfortunately, some terrible fried food. As for desserts, I would have preferred something more authentic or Japanese, even revisited, rather than a bland chocolate sphere (obsolete, it was all the rage 10 years ago).

We dined here as a couple, and the overall experience was pleasant. The restaurant is meticulously maintained, the atmosphere is very pleasant, even for a romantic evening, and the service was attentive and friendly. The problem arises when you compare the culinary quality with the final bill. We chose the Omakase menu; the cuisine is unique and combines classic flavors with sophisticated dishes, but they were often bland or unbalanced. In short: we ate well, but we paid as if we'd eaten divinely. At these prices, the technical level of the cuisine should be much higher. It's a shame; the starting point was excellent, but we were quite disappointed.

A fantastic culinary experience. My wife and I chose the washoku menu, and each course was better than the last. I was especially amazed by the flavor of the black cod, which was truly interesting. We also tried the wagyu, which was incredibly melt-in-your-mouth.
The price is perfectly in line with the quality and service offered.

An unexpected culinary journey in the heart of Turin
Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
A true hidden gem on Via dei Mercanti.
I stumbled upon Kensho almost by accident, even though it's the kind of place you usually go to "on a guaranteed hit," given its fame. It was a complete surprise: in my opinion, it's the best à la carte sushi restaurant in Turin.
The Gastronomic Experience
The journey began with an entrée recommended by the waiter: a selection of samples to be enjoyed in sequence (from left to right or vice versa, the order gets lost in the emotion of the moment!). Every single bite was an explosion of flavor, a true culinary journey that transports you elsewhere.
The highlight of the evening was the Wagyu beef. Despite the hefty price tag, seeing it expertly prepared right before your eyes justifies every penny. The quality of the ingredients and the attention to detail make the experience unforgettable.
Prices and Logistics
• Bill: The prices are undoubtedly above average, but there's a reason. The quality of the food and the attention to detail perfectly explain the price: here, you're not just paying for dinner, but for a high-end experience.
• Location: The restaurant is located in a beautiful pedestrian area. This makes it very charming, although parking is a bit inconvenient. I recommend arriving early or looking for a nearby spot.
In summary:
If you're looking for the usual sushi, you're out of luck. If you're looking for a truly satisfying experience and are willing to invest in quality, Kensho is a must. I'd go back tomorrow! Tip: Don't be intimidated by the à la carte menu; trust the staff's recommendations to discover pairings you'll be hard-pressed to find elsewhere.

I went to Keisho last week for a business dinner and the experience was impeccable.
The highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the ramen: I've rarely had such a balanced dish, with a deep flavor and a quality of ingredients that you can taste at first bite. Next, we had a Wagyu sirloin steak that melted in your mouth, and to top it off, an excellent chocolate dessert.
The atmosphere is intimate and decidedly relaxing, perfect for chatting without the chaos typical of many places. The service also deserves praise: the staff was attentive and professional throughout the evening.
I recommend it for a Japanese experience.

High-quality ingredients and friendly staff, of course, but given the prices, I expected more. The table is wobbly, with seating on the bench, which is decidedly uncomfortable. Excellent nigiri, good but not wow-worthy uramaki, and good ramen.
