Kensho In Torino

When you want to combine excellent service with astonishing quality, you can't miss Kensho. The level of service and customer care is top-notch, and the price is reasonable (from €50 to €70 per person, excluding wine).

For me, the most disappointing aspect, besides the tasteless sushi, was the service. Although the staff was friendly, the service was cloying and intrusive, and the marketing hype was very annoying, especially since the waiters said things that, to someone like me who's lived in Japan, sound like a joke. I also didn't appreciate the spectacle of the sushi being prepared in front of us on a tray with a cup of water in which the chef wiped his hands, dripping in front of us. As I said, the sushi tasted like nothing; the ramen and cooked dishes were better, but they were still too expensive. In short, the marketing hype was overwhelming.

This is an amazingly good restaurant. Better than most Japanese restaurants I've eaten at in the San Francisco Bay area. They do everything at your table! That means they grind the wasabi root. They formed the rice for the sashimi and you watch as a put the sushi on top of the rice with a little bit of wasabi and soy sauce. The food is excellent, but it is a bit pricey.

Very refined and sophisticated Japanese cuisine. I followed the maitre d''s suggested seven-course menu. Almost everything was very good, with peaks of excellent. The portions aren't excessive, but I must say that by the end of the menu, you're quite full. If I had to find a negative note on the menu: we were served a dessert consisting of a hollowed-out melon with a sponge cake base and layers of cream and fruit on top. It was a bit cloying, heavy, and, in my opinion, out of step with the sophistication and elegance of the previous courses. Since the menu doesn't have fixed courses, the restaurant prepares dishes based on the customer's preferences. The service is impeccable, always very attentive but discreet: water is poured, cutlery is replaced after each course, and hand towels are provided after the most frequently used courses. The costs are very high, the raw materials are of high quality and the service is attentive, but in my opinion a little above the expectations of the experience lived.

Objectively, the ingredients are high-quality, but there wasn't a wow factor. Prices were above average (€100/€110 per person), especially considering that I left the restaurant feeling hungry.

Kensho is not only a unique restaurant, but it is an experience! You are welcomed by the owner itself and he guides you in the best choice, accordingly with you taste. Most of the serves are prepared in front of you at the table. The final price is high, but 100% worth it!

Fast service and friendly staff...

Although the food quality is high, unfortunately I don't think the quality-quantity-price ratio is right. To spend €70 a head, I need to find a few more dishes or transform the dinner into an alternative experience; things we didn't find. Too bad.

Eccezionale è l’unica parola per descrivere la cena di sabato sera da Kensho; ero già stata una volta diversi anni fa, credo più o meno prima del covid, ma non mi ricordavo nulla di simile! Mio marito ed io ci teniamo a congratularci davvero per l’ottimo servizio da parte di tutto il personale: gentile, educato e professionale. Abbiamo optato per il menù “omakase” che in giapponese significa proprio “mi fido di te” e non potevamo fare scelta migliore. Abbiamo aggiunto al menù la tagliata di Wagyu alla quale non abbiamo saputo resistere.. una vera goduria! È un’esperienza senza eguali in Torino che vi consigliamo spassionatamente!

Situato nel cuore di Torino, ma come ti siedi a tavola come in un matrix ti ritrovi a Tokio. Piatti spettacolari .Dal sushi omakase, al french toast, al tris di ostriche, all' udon. Tutto eccellente ,servizio celere. Personale accogliente e simpatico. Sicuramente da ritornarci.💯
