The staff was very attentive, and the food was delicious. The pasta and octopus were incredible. I'm celiac, and I felt very safe eating here. They have so many options, and all the desserts are gluten-free and delicious. 100% recommended!

Monday 2 June 2025 we came to eat at this restaurant and we were super satisfied, excellent quality, friendly staff and characteristic and delicate environment, we were satisfied from the appetizer to the dessert! Kantunera, on the island of Ortigia in Syracuse, is a small restaurant run by Danilo and Letizia - together with a diligent team of young collaborators in the kitchen and at the tables - with great care for the raw materials (fish in particular) and pasta, homemade tagliolini. The entire menu, from appetizers to desserts, is "designed" with a gluten-free approach - the owner is celiac - and can be adapted to include gluten for the first courses. Where handmade tagliolini reign supreme (for celiacs, they will be delicious maccheroncini al ferretto, always handmade). Every evening, there is an off-the-menu daily menu that complements the main dishes: few but made to order (good for that). Excellence: pasta with sea urchins with strictly RAW sea urchins (perfect!) added at the table, directly on the tagliolini (Danilo usually does it with great pride, but if you ask him, you can greedily do it yourself, anticipating the imminent sensory journey on the shore of... your sea of memories). The wine list is accurate with niche labels and tied to the territory (Etna DOC included). If you have a celiac guest, relax! You won't have to constantly check the non-contamination of the dishes.
