Our hotel offered us a Törggelen hike to the Johannserhof, which we participated in on September 24, 2025. The hike from Villanders to the Johannserhof took about an hour, was manageable for everyone, and offered stunning views. Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed by the owner and seated in a cozy, large seating area in her living room (the guest room). As a welcome, we were served home-smoked bacon on a board and home-baked bread. Afterwards, we were treated to barley soup and pumpkin soup. For the main course, we had home-smoked sausage, smoked pork loin, sauerkraut, dumplings, and potatoes. Later, doughnuts with cranberry or nut filling were served. This was accompanied by a very smooth red or white wine, and to finish, the owner treated us to two schnapps (herb and brandy), both very tasty. Everything was delicious, and we had a wonderful evening. But what impressed us most was the owner, who frequently came to our table and simply recited stories in rhyme or told us about her daily life on the farm. Sometimes funny, sometimes thoughtful, but very entertaining. You can tell that she runs this farm with heart. The farm is 600 years old and has a black kitchen that is still in use. We were even allowed to visit it at the end of the evening. A unique experience that we would happily recommend to everyone! Thank you for the wonderful evening! We also had wonderful musical accompaniment that evening, which was organized by our hotel.

An incredibly authentic wine tavern. Tucked away above Klausen with a view of Säben Abbey, it offers fruity Müller Thurgau and an equally fruity Portugieser-Zweigelt cuvée. The farm is beautiful and listed as a historic monument. For dinner, we had dumplings, doughnuts, and meat platters. The Johannser is only open two months a year. Törggelen as it should be! Congratulations!!!

Michaela and Ewald run the Johannserhof farm with simplicity, passion and a lot of love for their land. It is a magical, authentic place, where you can observe South Tyrol up close, from the eyes of those who live it every day cultivating the land and raising animals.
All their products are homemade, the management is completely family-run, attention is paid to every little detail.
The internal Stube is simply wonderful and smells like home.
Treat yourself and visit this unique place for an autumn Törggelen!
