A veces tienes suerte y te encuentras con una experiencia que te deja completamente boquiabierto. Mi marido había leído sobre este bar clandestino en Roma y quería ir. Tienes que hacer una reserva, ya que este es un club privado. ¡Qué intrigante! El club abre a las 9: 00 PM y cierra a las 4 : 00 AM. Así que hicimos una reserva para un domingo por la noche. Se encuentra en una calle poco iluminada del Corso Vittorio Emanuele II - añadiendo más a la intriga. Realmente no hay señalización excepto en la puerta hay una placa de latón que dice “Prof. Jerry Thomas.” Tocas la campana, se abre la puerta, das tu nombre y la contraseña (Sí, hay contraseña para entrar) , y te admiten en el club. Hay una cuota anual de membresía de 5 € por persona. Fuimos cálidamente recibidos por Roberto y nos sentamos en una mesa cómoda. En este bar se alojaron unas 25 personas, con dos camareros mezclando bebidas. Euro y Roberto se ocuparon de todas nuestras necesidades y fueron excelentes! Cuando mi esposo le preguntó si tenían whisky de centeno en la barra, Roberto le sugirió que fuera a la barra y mirara. Probablemente tenían 14 botellas diferentes de centeno, pero ninguna de Maryland. Cuando pidió un Manhattan de centeno, Roberto trajo una botella de centeno de su “casa”, que fue hecha especialmente para ellos. Después de que mencionara que si su Manhattan se hizo usando su centeno casero, el costo sería de 40 €. Mi marido se negó rápidamente y optó por un Manhattan de centeno regular por 15 euros! No bebo mucho, así que me hicieron un Amaretto. Ambos fueron servidos en las rocas, excepto que esta vez, cada uno tenía un cubo de hielo enorme – nunca habíamos visto cubos tan grandes antes. Ambos disfrutamos mucho de nuestro tiempo en el Speakeasy y le dijimos a Roberto que volveríamos de nuevo. Fue un concepto interesante, divertido y agradable.

The password comes by email, but it's just a radical chic custom that serves no purpose, you enter as in standard venues. Warm welcome with a splendid smile from the girl at the entrance. The time is limited, without the possibility of having more than two or three drinks, a rule that makes you a little uncomfortable without feeling "pampered" and welcomed. Amazing cocktails.

Fantastic drinks, amazing atmosphere, but I felt compelled to write a review based off the incredible service. I’ve never experienced service as good as here, where the staff do not interrupt you at all, however as soon as you are finished your drinks they are with you quickly to take the empty glasses and replace the coasters. The staff are always ready to help you, and are very swift in their service, so impressively that I made sure to ask their names so that I could mention them here! (Thank you Ludovico, Giulia, and Siria!) If you are in Rome, this place is a must go. 10/10.

Very nice atmosphere, very nice music, the staff very kind and helpful and the cocktails very nice with clear drink, everything you need to have a very nice and quality evening. Be prepared before you go, because it is a secret bar, you should: 1) Find the entrance to the bar in the alley 2) Ring the correct bell. 3) After they open the door for you, find out what the password is.

At the JT we spent two very pleasant after dinners, very kind staff, cozy atmosphere with great style, excellent cocktails. Highly recommended

Best speakeasy in Italy, perhaps the first

Perso in un limbo . Tra note di bluse e profumo dei divani in pelle. Luci soffuse ma non su gli spiriti. Un pianoforte , antico come le strade di Roma non suonato da troppo tempo , ormai ospita solo gomiti e sottobicchieri sudati . Il vociferare della gente mi avvolge , sotto sento solo le note del basso e del pianoforte acuto . Sono inebriato . Arriva il cocktail . IL COCKTAIL . Mi trasporta ; mi rapisce in un 45%-30%-25% . I discorsi si mischiano come un telefono senza fili .. meglio se mi alzo . Vado all’orizzonte del bancone . Un diavolo dai capelli legati prepara il fuoco agrumato appena dietro la linea di confine invalicabile.. dietro di lei arcobaleni alcolici dal blu al rosso . Ad ogni colore il suo . Ad ogni nota un colpo di braccia che frantuma i pensieri e le angosce lasciandoli alle spalle già dal primo sorso . È quello che vuole . È quello di cui avete bisogno ..e loro ..lo sanno bene . La natura chiama dopo 3 Drink . Luci quasi spente , lirica in sottofondo di un grande maestro ormai defunto e donne nude alle pareti che sbirciano l’ intimità . Torno al bancone . Niente foto dell’intero del Jerry . Leggete ed immaginate. È proprio così , come lo volete , come lo pensate . Blues , Pelle nera e colori .
