Tucked away in an alley, we arrive at the door a little unsure, ring the bell, and are greeted with a smile and by name, recognizing our reservation. We cross the threshold and find ourselves enveloped in a pleasant 1920s-1930s atmosphere, swing music, soft lighting. Yes, it's the Prohibition era, but here, on the contrary, the spirit is at its peak, with intoxicating cocktails featuring notes that match the ambiance. I enjoyed an almond-infused cocktail while snuggled up on a comfortable sofa: fantastic; my compliments to the bartender! We knew an employee of the place, but that didn't mean the owner gave us special treatment; here, people love their work and show their pride. Congratulations.

The Jerry Thomas provided what I can only describe as an incredibly immersive experience, an unforgettable atmosphere and impeccable service. The cocktails were positively delicious and I would definitely recommend the mai tai. The staff were extremely attentive and accommodating, going so far as to offer to make off the menu drinks if we so wished. At one stage, one of the bartenders chose two different drinks for my mother and I, completely based off of what he thought we would like, and let me just say they were absolutely divine! We were lucky enough to get a table just as they opened without a reservation, but I would definitely recommend booking in advance as we only got a table out of luck and it being off-season. The drinks were on the more expensive side but that’s to be expected with its location and the experience provided. If you’re in Rome, I would definitely recommend you take your time to visit as it truly is an unforgettable experience.

Jerry Thomas Speakeasy fully immerses you in a Prohibition-era setting. Entry requires a password from their website, plus a €5 membership registration inside—part of the ritual that makes the experience unmemorable and is truly just a fee grab. The space is compact and atmospheric, styled like a 1920s bar with vintage décor, a stunning backbar, and music (jazz, blues, classics) played at the perfect volume. One of their rules is that vodka isn’t served, which underscores the commitment to authenticity. Recommendation: blue blazer The menu is high quality with a strong selection but I didnt order any of their creations. Cocktails are tasty, balanced, and well-crafted. Presentation is minimal—nice coasters, high-quality glassware, basic garnish—but it suits the speakeasy’s style. Water is served on arrival, and the team is attentive, professional, and friendly. Reservations are mandatory, but once inside, the service flows seamlessly. Prices are significantly above average for Rome.

Unique experience!!! Great cocktails and ambiance

A magical place hidden near the Tiber River, with excellent cocktails. The only thing I didn't like was that they asked us to fill out a form with our details, and the waiter didn't tell us it would cost 5 euros per person. A little more honesty wouldn't hurt. Other than that, I highly recommend the place.

Nos encanta hablar fácil y generalmente tratamos de encontrar uno en todas nuestras escapadas urbanas. Este fue, con diferencia, el favorito en Roma. El ambiente, el servicio y la autenticidad era insuperable. Generalmente sentía que habíamos retrocedido en el tiempo. Me encantó! Me encantó la entrada no tan fácil de encontrar también!

¡Qué gran bar encontramos un viernes por la noche! No teníamos reservas (definitivamente recomendaría tomar esa ruta si estás planeando con anticipación), pero pudimos ingresar sin cita previa, así que no te preocupes si eres de último momento como nosotros. ¡El personal fue muy amable y atento e hizo que la experiencia fuera mucho mejor! Nos encantó la temática de la Prohibición del bar y todas las bebidas eran creativas y de excelente calidad. Los precios eran un poco altos pero la experiencia fue excelente, así que al final valió la pena. ¡Además, el aire acondicionado era estupendo después de un día caluroso en Roma!
