Jerry Thomas Speakeasy In Roma

This was our third visit to Jerry Thomas Speakeasy, and it felt like the right time to finally write a review. The cocktails here are truly incredible, and the mixology is on another level. It’s a small, intimate space with a fun speakeasy vibe, and you absolutely need a reservation if you want to get in since it’s not the kind of place you can just walk into. When we arrived this time, there was a mix-up with our reservation, and we ended up waiting outside for longer than we should have. Once they realized, the staff handled it really well by bringing us in immediately and offering glasses of champagne as an apology, which was a classy touch. The atmosphere is cozy, stylish, and feels special every time. If you’re in Rome and want somewhere unique for after-dinner drinks, this is the perfect spot to end the night.

It was an okay experience, the drinks were good, staff is a bit slow, and they never explained that the membership has a fee and exactly what it entails.

The staff is extremely polite and welcoming. The place has a unique atmosphere that takes you back to the “good old days.” We didn’t have a reservation, but even so, the host managed to get us a table, always with great attention and hospitality. The drinks are delicious, and the music is pleasant. A solid 10 out of 10! Our only suggestion for improvement would be to have the membership form also written in English, since customers are required to sign it.

The space is compact and atmospheric, styled like a 1920s bar with vintage décor, a stunning backbar, and music (jazz, blues, classics) played at the perfect volume. One of their rules is that vodka isn’t served, which underscores the commitment to authenticity. Drinks: 8.5/10 Recommendation: Roasted Negroni The menu is high quality with a strong selection. Cocktails are tasty, balanced, and well-crafted. Presentation is minimal—nice coasters, high-quality glassware, basic garnish—but it suits the speakeasy’s style. Service: 8.5/10 Water is served on arrival, and the team is attentive, professional, and friendly. Reservations are mandatory, but once inside, the service flows seamlessly. Prices are significantly above average for Rome.

The most cosy bar with incredible drinks ✨ Even though we didn't have a reservation and they were really busy, they still made a huge effort to seat us which we really appreciated. 🙏 Can't wait to go back!

We absolutely loved the Jerry Thomas Speakeasy! The drinks were outstanding, and the atmosphere with its music made for a great experience. You do need a reservation, and they also require a €5 membership, but it’s well worth it.
