Lunch like a family and a beautiful atmosphere in a place that has the magic of country restaurants.

Strolling through the streets of Sutri, my partner and I were irresistibly drawn by the inviting aroma wafting through the air. Following the aroma, we arrived at the Il Vescovado restaurant, where we fortunately found a free table for two, right next to the fireplace: a warm and welcoming corner that made the atmosphere even more pleasant. We were immediately won over by the friendly and welcoming staff, especially the grill man, a true master of meat cooking. We were able to watch him as he expertly prepared a succulent tagliata and grilled lamb, a spectacle that previewed the flavors to come. We began with a rich and beautifully presented Italian appetizer, followed by a plate of gnocchi that left us completely satisfied. Despite being full, we indulged in dessert: I chose a slice of Sacher torte, while my partner opted for a cake with peanuts and caramelized cream. Both were delicious, as was the coffee afterward, which I enjoyed without sugar to fully appreciate its aroma. An authentic gastronomic experience, made special by the attention to detail and the family atmosphere. If I ever return to this area, it will definitely be a must-visit. I highly recommend this place.

Not always, but often (as in this case), you can tell the value of a restaurant if it's frequented by locals. Well, our experience was positive, based on what we ate, and certainly fun, having spent dinner in direct contact with some locals. Is this a relaxing situation? Maybe not, but some encounters still make you smile and leave the place feeling happy.

I had dinner at Vescovado with my girlfriend while we were on vacation in Sutri. Of all the days we spent in the area, I think it was the place where we enjoyed ourselves the most: the quiet place, the view of the valley, the almost fairytale entrance at the end of a narrow street, and above all, the staff was extremely kind and made us feel at ease even though we were the only people on the terrace. I think we'll be back in the future. The dinner was very good, especially the pollo al mattone, which was very tender.

Good food and friendly, helpful staff! The place is well-maintained and located very close to the castle! Recommended!
