The croissants are really good and the coffee is top-notch. The only downside is that they don't offer table service, which can be a bit confusing to find a table. Highly recommended!

I've been to Bar Il Sole in Ostia several times, and each time I've had a positive experience, so much so that I've been happy to return. It's one of those bars that may not impress with its appearance, but wins you over with the way it makes you feel. As soon as you enter, you're always greeted with warmth and smiles: the staff is kind, helpful, and attentive, just as many users and reviews say. The coffee is good, strong, and made just right, and the croissants are fresh, well-filled, and never dry. In the morning, it's a pleasure to stop in, even for a few minutes, because the atmosphere is calm and familiar. I also really enjoyed the aperitifs: simple, unpretentious, yet thoughtful, and accompanied by a snack. It's a place where you can relax without the hustle and bustle, ideal for a quick break or just to sit and chat. The place is clean and tidy, and you can sense that they care about their customers, something that's not always a given these days. There's a neighborhood feel, with regulars and a genuine atmosphere. Ultimately, Bar Il Sole is one of those places that doesn't try to impress, but rather does simple things well. And that's precisely why it deserves to be recommended.

The desserts were very good, in fact excellent, but the service and the courtesy of the person who seemed to be the owner left much to be desired.

Il Sole di Ostia, one of the best bars in all of southern Rome. Perfection lies not only in the buttery, filling croissants, but also in the professional service and the products they offer (pastries, breakfast, and other savory dishes!). The cakes are excellent; I often get them here for parties. The tobacco section and restrooms, which aren't always the best in bars, are excellent. The bar has plenty of seating (all inside), a TV, and large windows for a view of the outside. It's a great meeting point, especially since it's right in front of the 05B bus stop, making it well-connected.

You can find everything, and it's all excellent quality. Even tobacco.

More than a café and pastry shop, it's a true meeting place for a fantastic breakfast: tell me what croissant (or braid, baguette, donut, bomb, leavened, flaky, plain, filled...) you're looking for, and I'll tell you it's there, made to order! The coffee is also good! Great tobacco shop, takeaway pastries, and a select selection of gift bottles.
