The place is very crowded on summer weekends and around religious holidays.
Although it is pleasant to drive to reach the top, I recommend using the funicular, as there are not many parking spaces on site and they all require a fee. If desired, it is possible to continue along the uphill road, beyond the Sanctuary, mainly with vehicles (but also on foot for trekking lovers and those who like to walk for a few km) to reach Campo Maggiore, a large plateau, very beautiful to visit especially when there is snow.

Lovely, it just needs to be looked after and cleaned more
Beautiful and well organized complex perched on the Parteni mountains at around 1300 meters above the sea. In addition to the churches, there is a bar, a restaurant and several souvenir shops, as well as a small nativity scene museum. Present and very clean toilets available to visitors. To be visited especially on the hottest summer days to enjoy a cool and relaxing climate experience, also as a base for some walks in the surrounding area. The views are remarkable.

It is magnificent to visit this beautiful sanctuary, located on an Irpinia mountain of approximately 1200 m above sea level. It is a place rich in history and legend. Once you have visited the Sanctuary, it is possible to stop and taste typical local products, both in the attached restaurant and in the various farmhouses in the area. Furthermore, you can go up to the plateau for a picnic or to admire the splendid lake, which dries up in summer, so you can only do it from autumn to spring.
