Rustic cuisine and authentic dishes ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Il Richiastro is a traditional restaurant that makes you feel right at home. The rustic and welcoming atmosphere, with simple yet elegant furnishings, creates the perfect setting for a casual dinner full of authentic flavors. The service is friendly and attentive, and the dishes are prepared with fresh, authentic ingredients. I loved the homemade tagliatelle with a flavorful ragù and the tender and flavorful red wine braised beef. The homemade desserts, like the fruit tart, are a perfect end to the meal. The prices are fair for the quality and quantity. If you're looking for simple yet flavorful cuisine, Il Richiastro is definitely a perfect choice.

Perhaps those who post such reviews have no idea what quality or "typical Italian food" mean. At Il Richiastro, you'll find both at the highest possible level, if not beyond. The atmosphere, the friendliness, the quality of the ingredients are out of this world. And the menu, whether intentionally or not, is entirely devoid of tomatoes, corn, or potatoes... in short, truly MEDIEVAL, with flavors that would have been common in 1200-1300 (the year the farmhouse and the adjacent building, Casa Mazzatosta, were built, once supplied by the very building that now houses the restaurant). If you're in Viterbo, you absolutely mustn't miss it: perfect cuisine set in the perfect context of a typically medieval city. And if you have to criticize on principle, well, Cracco's fake kitchens await you 😂

A typical and distinctive place, hard to find. The menu is very limited, with little choice. I understand it's a holiday, but the wait for the starters was long.

A lovely restaurant in the center of Viterbo, intimate and very well-maintained. Traditional dishes revisited with an original twist. A special thank you and compliment to the delightful and kind waitress Sara who served us! Highly recommended.

Well... reading the other reviews, maybe I didn't quite fall in love with it. The location is informal and even uncomfortable. The outdoor seating isn't that great. The staff is attentive and friendly. The dishes are original, but the flavors aren't mind-blowing. The prices are moderately high.
