11/01/2025: A journey through authentic flavors and serenity at "I Mori" in Palermo
***
After difficult days, marked by health-related anxieties, I decided to treat myself to a special evening, a moment just for me. The choice fell on I Mori, in the heart of Palermo, in Piazza Don Bosco. A solitary dinner which, thanks to the magic of this place, was transformed into a unique experience, capable of restoring tranquility and well-being.
The appetizer: the sea on the plate
My dinner began with an appetizer that captured all the freshness and authenticity of our sea. The Turkish Bruschette, with smoked salmon, buffalo cream and squid ink caviar, were a perfect balance between crunchiness and creaminess, elegance and taste. Alongside these, the first choice marinated scampi and marinated prawns, very fresh and with a delicate flavour, were sublime in their simplicity, enhanced by a light touch of extra virgin olive oil and lemon. The fine de claire oysters could not be missing, which, with their natural flavor and velvety consistency, added a note of pure refinement to the appetizer.
The first course: the "Nera dei Mori", a culinary masterpiece
The real surprise of the evening was the first course, the Nera dei Mori. The cuttlefish ink tagliatelle, with an intense and enveloping flavour, were accompanied by marinated red prawns and sea urchins which gave a perfectly balanced flavour. Every bite was a journey through the flavors of the Mediterranean, a celebration of the excellence of the ingredients and the mastery of the chef.
A sweet ending and a special phone call
I ended the evening with a "Stuffed Lemon" of sorbet, fresh and thirst-quenching, the perfect dessert to end this dinner in style. The only moment in which my solitude was pleasantly brightened by a phone call from my friend Giuseppe Pitari. Speaking with him is always a privilege: a person who knows how to make a difference with his strategic vision and his altruistic commitment, demonstrating how important it is to serve others and avoid any form of personalism.
A place of flavors and harmony
I Mori is not just a restaurant, it is a refuge where friendliness, professionalism and quality come together to create a memorable experience. Each dish is a celebration of the authentic flavors of the sea, presented with elegance and prepared with skill. It is a place that I recommend to anyone looking not just for dinner, but for a moment of regeneration and serenity. Thanks to I Mori, I found myself through the beauty of food and the warm welcome of those who know how to make cooking an art.
08/01/2025: Very nice restaurant, elegantly furnished, in the central Piazza Don Bosco, a few steps from via Libertà.
I had wanted to go there for a long time, attracted by the beautiful dishes seen in the online images.
Finally the opportunity presented itself and, after booking, we went for dinner yesterday.
We sat in a very quiet internal room, with refined furnishings, and ordered two first courses: busiate Mazara and Imperiale.
Both cooked to perfection, with an intense and delicious flavour, well seasoned and abundant, as in the images seen on Facebook.
Being already pleasantly full, we didn't order second courses, but went straight to dessert, choosing a citrus semifreddo, delicate and exquisite at the same time, and a strawberry cheesecake, which was also very good.
All accompanied by good white wine and delicious background music.
The service was fast and the staff were friendly and helpful.
Prices are a little higher than average, but the quality is higher than average.
Very positive experience, definitely to be repeated.
