Il Papillon In Rocca di papa

Near Grottaferrata but beneath the slopes of the splendid Rocca di Papa is the Il Papillon restaurant and pizzeria, which for years has been offering traditional cuisine with a contemporary twist. Renovated in its location and decor—rustic yet elegant—the restaurant welcomed us into a wonderful country farmhouse. It almost feels like the dining room of your own home, with tastefully arranged and chosen tables and chairs, as well as the table linens and the "mise en place" that I photographed because it was truly refined: from the fast and punctual service to the food... from the pizza to the grilled dishes, everything was perfect, but I'm not just saying this; I don't know the owner, so I'm speaking honestly, considering we happened upon a Friday evening and without a reservation! The quality-price ratio is excellent, the meat is top-quality, selected and portioned in front of the customer, including rare Kobe and Wagyu. The pizza is exceptional, with three doughs to choose from, classic whole wheat and thick, all top-quality ingredients and very generous... I recommend trying it, I'll definitely be back enthusiastically... I must say, a surprise in the Castelli Romani area. A strong point, in addition to both indoor and outdoor space, is also ample parking.

A quality restaurant with a strong focus on meat. We had pizza, which is offered with three different toppings. Definitely excellent value.

We had lunch in this wonderful place and as soon as you enter you realize that it is not just any place. We had a couple of appetizers including some cold cuts (hand-cut ham)... stratospheric. Nothing banal and so much quality. Then we moved on to the second courses, between fillet and slices... They melted in the mouth just by looking at them. Even a "simple" chicory is worthy of applause. Even though we were very full we tried the tiramisu... atomic. In short, everything was fantastic from bread to coffee, because that was also top!!! Ps: even if it has nothing to do with it, it is to be highly appreciated in the ladies' bathroom, the corner with the toilets for the children... as a mother, so much gratitude. You can see when you want to take care of everyone, meet the needs of families. Very clean place, we had a really good time.. exceptional staff!! We will be back!

Welcoming place we entered this restaurant by chance the owner was very helpful with us there were 10 of us there was no place but somehow he accommodated us the dishes were excellent the only flaw an excellent Florentine steak which in the end we ate very little of because it was all bone and there was a bit too much fat for the price that was paid however the quality was excellent the rest everything excellent. The prices are average

Excellent, welcoming, exceptional everything! Kind and polite staff. Pizzas and meat to lick your lips 😋 convenient parking. For those coming from Rome in the summer it is a beautiful refuge for the cool air, it is located at the foot of Rocca di Papa, you will admire the village from below it will seem like a nativity scene 🥰🫶💪

Pranzo di Pasqua. Cibo molto buono, dall'antipasto al dolce, con porzioni non troppo abbondanti, in particolare la tagliata (che ho ordinato io), che ho trovato piuttosto scarsa e (sfortuna mia) un taglio di carne con troppi "nervi" quindi non ho potuto mangiarla tutta. Prezzi forse un po' più alti della media. Servizio cortese, attento e veloce.

Buono il supplì, forse un po' piccolino, prezzi più alti della ultima volta, buono il gusto della pizza, tutto sommato voto 7 1/2
