The restaurant, housed in an old apartment, boasts a very distinctive interior, with period floors and doors paired well with more modern and colorful furnishings. The courtyard inside the building is also beautiful, while the exterior façade and entrance are unremarkable and poorly maintained. The dishes, while sophisticated and modern, have a traditional foundation. The wines, carefully selected by the sommelier, complemented the food very well, even though some of the pairings seemed a bit daring. The service was attentive, courteous, yet appropriately informal. As for dessert, you can sense the difference in thinking between the pastry chef and the chef; the desserts are more extravagant and detached from tradition. Excellent value for a one-Michelin-star restaurant. Highly recommended and a must-try!

I'd been to this restaurant many years ago, but since then they've changed chefs and locations, so I was really curious to try it again! The location is truly beautiful: the rooms are tastefully and colorfully decorated, and the table setting is simple yet classy. However, the real highlight is the food! Choosing was incredibly difficult, so we opted for the tasting menu, which truly won us over with every dish! The wine list is also interesting, featuring several local labels! Definitely a place to return!

Congratulations to the entire staff at Il Papavero for offering us a wonderful lunch. Each course was better than the one before, and the same was true for the entire tasting menu. The dishes don't focus on a large number of ingredients, but on simplicity and the care given to a few elements, each with its own specific role within the dish. The menu takes you on a journey that begins with delicate flavors, like that of cuttlefish, and progresses to delicious and savory dishes, like the egg with pecorino cream or the risotto with peppers and nduja. The service is attentive and takes care to pamper guests, without ever being intrusive. Highly recommended!

Il Papavero was an extraordinary discovery. The head waiter was incredibly kind and attentive, and the entire staff was equally friendly, making us feel welcomed from the moment we arrived. The setting is reminiscent of an elegant apartment, furnished with paintings and local artwork that create a unique and welcoming atmosphere. We were given a private room. The dinner, a five-course meal with wine pairings, was delicious from start to finish. An unforgettable experience, definitely worth repeating.

Very well-kept location, service worthy of a Michelin-starred restaurant, good menu but honestly I expected something more.

We made a reservation for a very quiet night at this lovely and quirky restaurant full of interesting art. They seated us in one of their rooms with only another couple, so it was very intimate and romantic. The service was impeccable and the experience was wonderful. We decided to order a la carte because my husband is a pescetarian so we didn't want to worry about them having to make adjustments. We received their amuse bouche to start (which the chef makes for everyone, it's included in the experience) which were absolutely delicious, though one was meat-based. We also ordered the cuttlefish "tagliatelle" which is cuttlefish formed into a long pasta - served cold in a really good cream sauce, it was excellent. Then we had mezzo rigatoni with sting ray - amazing, such an interesting dish. And fish my husband and I had separate mains, he ordered a cod dish which he loved and I ordered the duck which I found to be overcooked but otherwise very flavorful - I should have known better than to order duck in Italy as it's not really their specialty. We also loved the dessert - we ordered the milk and honey one and it comes with all these tiny additional desserts. The wine we ordered was a really nice Piedmonte orange wine - Demarie Sabbia - which was so, so good, I highly recommend ordering that if you like orange wines as it went so well with everything we ordered and it was one of their more affordable bottles. Overall we were very impressed and felt well taken care of. Our final bill including wine was about 150€ which is reasonable for a Michelin star restaurant and such a high quality meal. Just a small warning that it's not obvious where the main door is, it's around the corner from where Google maps brought us, and you have to buzz in. Reservations are absolutely a must, though we made ours the same day.

Excellent experience, everything perfect, fair prices, even too low, a unique experience that I have not had in other starred restaurants, THE Michelin STAR IS DESERVED. Excellent food, friendly and smiling staff, impeccable attention to detail, what can I say, you can only return with a smile.
