Frazione San Pietro, Isola Gran Sasso. Ristorante intimo e accogliente, cucina schietta e genuina. Antipasto con salumi e formaggi di qualità, agnello e carni alla brace, vino della casa di livello. Servizio eccezionale. Consigliato

Everything ok, but the thing I appreciated most was the genuineness of the people who work in the restaurant. You can see that it is a "clean" environment. Everything we asked for was good, above all the handmade pasta and the ricotta meatballs, a real first for us.

San Pietro di Isola d.G.S. un paradiso di poche case sotto al monte Prena. Il Mandrone offre una cucina di qualità ma semplice e genuina come poche. Su tutto i troccoli al ragù bianco con le 13 erbe del Gran Sasso. Nell'antipasto la favolosa zuppa di ceci, porcini e castagne, le polpette di ricotta e le peschine verdi sott'aceto al tartufo: una chicca. Agnello alla brace senza parole. La proprietaria gentilissima e cordiale ci ha fatto sentire a casa. Meglio prenotare, al telefono risponde lei, Canuti Loredana, con il suo telefono fisso vintage a selettore a ruota. La vera ristorazione.

10/07/2025: Unexpectedly perfect. The food was excellent, the staff were quick and friendly, and the kids' area was very nice (the main reason for choosing it).
08/07/2025: Away from the seafront, toward the countryside, it's warmer, with plenty of outdoor tables in a courtyard-like setting, making it completely safe for children. There's also a dedicated outdoor play area with entertainers. A very extensive menu with a wide selection of regional dishes and both classic and gourmet pizzas. I chose a classic 4 Stagioni, certainly not the best I've ever had, but not the worst either. The arrosticini were good. Prices were average. Ideal for evenings with large groups and children.
