Excellent quality, qualified staff, top-notch chef. I'll be back as soon as possible.
As a couple, we ordered a spectacular Tartare Trio, and the first course was an incredible Genoese Tuna dish, speechless! I recommend it to everyone.

A real discovery! Super fresh fish, expertly cooked and carefully presented. Each dish was a journey through the flavors of the sea. The staff was kind and attentive, and the atmosphere was relaxing. I'll definitely be back; it's become my favorite seafood restaurant!

Il Gozzo Cucina e Cantina – The day Salerno Adopted Us
We live in California but we’re from Mexico and my wife from Guatemala, this is our first time ever in Salerno. After a long travel day we were starving and clueless, just walking when the smell of garlic and the sea lured us down Via Porto. We saw a tiny place glowing warmly, and thought, “let’s try here.”
We had no idea we’d just walked into the best meal of our trip in Italy.
What followed was pure happiness on plates:
- **Zuppa di lupini** (vongole veraci): dozens of tiny clams popping open in a broth of seawater, garlic, parsley and a serious kick of peperoncino. It tasted like if the Amalfi Coast and our Pacific beaches had a baby. We almost cried from joy and nostalgia.
- **Linguine con pesto di broccoli e guanciale**: the most beautiful emerald-green sauce, silky and full of flavor, tossed with perfect pasta and showered with crispy, smoky guanciale. Comfort food that hugged the soul.
- **Spaghetti alla ’nduja**: Rosella warned us with a wink, “This one fights back.” A silky, fiery sauce of melted Calabrian ’nduja that coated every strand and delivered a glorious, slow-burning heat. Two Latinos raised on habaneros and chile de árbol were in heaven shouting “¡está perfecto!” between bites.
She paired everything with a bottle a 2020 Zenato Valpolicella Classico (bright cherry, soft spice, the perfect firefighter for the chilli). We finished every clam, every strand of pasta, and every drop of that gorgeous wine.
By the time we left, Bruno had come out of the kitchen to high-five us for surviving the ’nduja.
We walked in as two exhausted strangers.
We walked out with Italian friends, burning lips, and the happiest hearts.
Bruno & Rosella, thank you for the food, the fire, and the love. Salerno feels like home now because of you.
We’ll be back again tomorrow to try another one of your delicious meals.
10/10 – life-changing accidental discovery.
Nos vemos pronto ❤️🔥 🇺🇸🇲🇽🇬🇹🇮🇹
