Very welcoming atmosphere in this place a stone's throw from the main attractions of Rome. The staff is very kind and the place is classy and clean. We had a carbonara, really good but a little oily, I would go back.

We received this recommendation from the manager of DanJohn, Alice, and she was right on… Hidden up a little cobblestone hill of the main road, the whole team was asking how we even found the place & so we mentioned it was from a local. We didn’t make a reservation but they were so welcoming & able to seat a party of seven after a reasonable wait. So accommodating! The giardino has a retractable roof and a casual vibe. The food was remarkable. Paccheri Scampi was extraordinary!Steak with truffle was a little chewy but so scrumptious. Spaghetti Allē vongole was better than expected. Capers’s salad so fresh & tasty. We had an excellent bottle of amarone. The artichoke contorni/antipasti was delicious One funny thing - my nephew requested grated cheese for his fried potatoes & while the waiter was clearly appalled, he made it funny so as not to make my nephew uncomfortable. That was a kindness that goes a long way when teens are figuring things out & moving outside their comfort zone. I’d absolutely return to this restaurant.

This was the best Cacio e Pepe I had in Rome. Recommend to us by a local. Local feel. Great wines. Friendly service. Close to Spanish steps. Very much a thumbs up!

Excellent food and pleasant service in an attractive room. We were a table of 9 and were accommodated quickly and comfortably. The food was fresh, flavorful and nicely presented. We had fresh grilled fish, wonderful pasta with clams and pistachio, sides and desserts—all was terrific. We had two bottles of wine, a beer and the bill was very reasonable. Given the area, it’s a real find! The front area is not air-conditioned but the dining room is.

AMAZING restaurant. The best restaurant we went to during our euro trip. Don’t let the entrance misguide you, it looked empty and weird but the food is spectacular, the service as well and the room all the way to the back has amazing atmosphere. Their carbonara was delicious and the steaks with butter and truffle as well as the one with the tree pepper sauce were spectacular. Extremely recommend it

I stopped in here for dinner one night in Rome and was amazed at the quality of food and service. Classic yet friendly and offers a great selection of Italian and even Roman dishes. My pasta was perfect, and the dessert was even better! Highly recommend - I will be back.
