Food was good!
We had lasagne (good, but not exceptional), a fish dish (salmon with an almond crust, was very good), mixed salad (quite small for €8!) and tiramisu (very nicely prepared!).
There were only a few people there on this Thursday evening despite the proximity to the musical theater and the location in general, which surprised us.
There is a deduction from our side because it was quite cold in the restaurant and we froze a bit.

Stumbled across this hidden gem on a side road. I was in search of well prepared food, that had simple ingredients and comforting flavor. Had a feel from the other photos I saw in these reviews. I was not disappointed. I focused on the list of specials. Artichokes, perfect. Salmon carpaccio, very good. The main I chose was gnocchi with clams and porcinis. It was excellent. Soft pillowy gnocchi, excellent flavor with a little crushed red pepper and fresh parsley mixed in the light sauce all rounded out with the clams and the mushrooms. Exactly what I needed. Nice wine list as well. Service was welcoming and appropriately attentive.

I was lucky enough to find this restaurant while searching by chance.
I was surprised that the restaurant itself was bigger than I expected.
I was once again surprised at how neat and delicious the food was.
Simple but faithful to the basics.

Everything you want in a neighborhood.Curbside italian restaurant! The food, the ambiance and the service blend together to create an experience that is unforgettable. Our waiter Enzo was courteous, knowledgeable, and professional in serving our appetizers, salads and dinner at a timely manner, never rushing to serve the next course, allowing us to savor the wine he recommended with our meal. I would fly back to Rome in a minute just to relive another meal in this restaurant. Best of all, we were seated in a larger room with a bunch of local families enjoying their meals, making our experience there that much greater!

We had an amazing dining experience at Il Giardino Antica Osteria in Rome! The food was absolutely fantastic—every dish was a delight. We started with the calamari and mussels, both cooked to perfection and bursting with flavor. For the pasta, the cacio e pepe and carbonara were everything we hoped for—rich, authentic, and perfectly balanced.
The service was equally impressive. The staff was attentive, warm, and seemed to anticipate our needs before we even had to ask, which made our evening even more enjoyable.
If you’re in Rome and looking for a cozy spot with incredible food and excellent service, Il Giardino Antica Osteria is a must-visit. Highly recommend!

An amazing seafood restaurant in a prime location and we had a delightful dinner here on our last night in Rome.
Welcoming and friendly staff, fresh seafood and delicious desserts and a fantastic experience.
Reservation recommended but plenty of seating - a worthwhile visit!

(2016)One of my favorites. The service is fantastic and the food is even better. Prices are extremely reasonable. I stop here everytime I am in Rome. Update!!!- I made it back to the restaurant again this year (2024) and I was pleasantly surprised. The food was even better than remembered. This restaurant is truly a gem in a city full of good food! The staff was lovely as always. My dinner was absolutely perfect!

I stopped in here for dinner one night in Rome and was amazed at the quality of food and service.
Classic yet friendly and offers a great selection of Italian and even Roman dishes.
My pasta was perfect, and the dessert was even better!
Highly recommend - I will be back.
