Il Gelato di Chiara In Campiglia marittima

For years, whenever we're in the area, we've been driving to Campglia specifically for Chiara's ice cream. In fact, I can't think of any better ice cream! One of the rare features—besides the unusual and perfect ice cream combinations—is the judicious use of sweetness. Nothing is masked, but sweetened just enough to highlight the variety of flavors and allow them to unfold. In any larger city, this little ice cream shop would be a crowded and barely affordable place for gourmets. We sincerely hope that Chiara's gem in Campiglia Marittima can maintain its commercial viability!

A truly artisanal gelato, anything but ordinary, made with care and passion. And it shows. It's impossible to resist the temptation to try all the flavors, from the classics to the "unusual" ones. A small and charming shop with an adjacent open-plan laboratory, an outdoor space that's a garden of serenity, where you can relive your childhood.

After trying Chiara's ice cream I can't eat any ice cream anymore: it's the best ice cream I've ever eaten, no question about it. This is real ice cream, prepared from raw materials, no type of preparation, each recipe is studied and calibrated. Eat it by the kilo.

The ice cream is very good, the price is very high: 3.30 euros for a scoop.

My job is flavorist, so I'm well trained in evaluating flavors. After a week of vacation in several places in the Tuscany and eating gelato every day, I can say, this is the best of the whole trip. It has natural and right flavors and textures. Ottimo gelato!
