We stumbled upon this tavern/restaurant by chance, with tables al fresco.
The service was really excellent (the brunette girl who served us was very friendly), the dishes we had were superb: a mixed appetizer of local cured meats and cheeses, a beetroot risotto with goat stracchino, a Viterbese-style roasted rabbit with wild fennel, a crunchy roast potato, a typical Fregnaccia (omelette with pecorino romano and pepper), 1 liter of water strictly from Nepi, 1/2 liter of local white wine, a coffee all excellent with the final bill (65€), very honest, and super dishes.

The service and atmosphere are excellent, especially on spring days when you can sit outside under the trees.
We been three adults, and knowing that both of us the food needs improvement. None of us finished our dish and one of us ordered another dish and didn't eat it either. It's a shame because the restaurant is very nice

In una bella domenica tranquilla abbiamo pranzato nella suggestiva cornice di Piazza della Morte. Abbiamo optato per piatti della tradizione locale, con tartufi e formaggi di qualità. Tutto veramente gustoso, ben presentato e preparato con materie prime di qualità. Ottimo il tagliere con salumi e formaggi della Tuscia e vi consiglio di accompagnarlo con le loro ottime pizzette. Personale professionale e molto cortese. Ottimo il rapporto qualità prezzo considerando anche il luogo
In questa circostanza è proprio il caso di usare il detto questo pranzo è la "Morte" sua!!! A presto

Un hallazgo en pleno centro histórico
Il Gargolo es un lugar con mucho encanto en el corazón de Viterbo, a pocos pasos del Palacio Papal. El ambiente es informal, sin mantel y con mesas compartidas, lo que le da un toque relajado y auténtico.
El menú es muy variado, con opciones para todos los gustos y platos bien preparados con ingredientes de calidad. Eso sí, los precios no son los más económicos, pero la ubicación y la experiencia lo justifican. Ideal para una comida sin apuros, disfrutando del casco histórico de la ciudad. ¡Vale la pena la visita!
