I come here often, the quality of the food is excellent and the menu changes often depending on the season, they also do excellent fish, in addition to meat. They have a wide selection of wines. Inside it is small and cozy but the outdoor tables enjoy an enviable position. The staff is very kind and the prices are more than adequate for the high quality they offer. It is one of the best restaurants in Viterbo and as far as the historic center is concerned it has no rivals

Beautiful birthday for my 50th birthday. The table set in the smallest details, the food excellent and the professionalism is very high. I recommend it to everyone!!!

Highly recommended! I was undecided between two appetizers and in the end the waiter brought me both making half a portion for one, taking away the problem of choosing only one. I also ordered a first course, two medium beers and a coffee. All for €40, honestly I expected to spend at least €10 more considering the average prices around. Exceptional quality, I will definitely be back

Great food, great service, courteous and fast, fabulous atmosphere... I was really satisfied with the choice. My only advice is to increase the selection of whiskeys with something more smoky and spicy like any Icelandic single malt but I repeat it is a suggestion not a criticism. Thanks for the great experience

I have only been here once in the summer. There is a cozy outdoor seating area shaded by tall trees. Very cozy. Both I and my party were satisfied with the food, which felt authentic from the area. The staff was nice and spoke English. It was easy to pay with cards. I had a vague feeling of a tourist trap when I sat down, but that prejudice was put to shame. Certainly nothing gave me that little extra, but as I said, we were satisfied with our visit. The price for the food is what I would call normal.

Restaurant in the center of Viterbo. Good service, we were outside. We took 1 cutting board with cold cuts and cheeses, fregnacce cacio e pepe, 1 risotto with red turnip and robiola and 1 soup of chickpeas and chestnuts. All good according to our tastes, perhaps the soup a little anonymous but still well made. With water and 1 beer for 2 people, cost 55 euros.

Stumbled on this restaurant by chance tonight. Setting is lovely under the trees and the waitress was lovely. We really enjoyed the eggplant parmigiana we shared the spaghetti with clams and fried artichoke was the best pasta we’ve had on our 3 week trip around Italy. Most enjoyable meal and service

Un hallazgo en pleno centro histórico Il Gargolo es un lugar con mucho encanto en el corazón de Viterbo, a pocos pasos del Palacio Papal. El ambiente es informal, sin mantel y con mesas compartidas, lo que le da un toque relajado y auténtico. El menú es muy variado, con opciones para todos los gustos y platos bien preparados con ingredientes de calidad. Eso sí, los precios no son los más económicos, pero la ubicación y la experiencia lo justifican. Ideal para una comida sin apuros, disfrutando del casco histórico de la ciudad. ¡Vale la pena la visita!

In una bella domenica tranquilla abbiamo pranzato nella suggestiva cornice di Piazza della Morte. Abbiamo optato per piatti della tradizione locale, con tartufi e formaggi di qualità. Tutto veramente gustoso, ben presentato e preparato con materie prime di qualità. Ottimo il tagliere con salumi e formaggi della Tuscia e vi consiglio di accompagnarlo con le loro ottime pizzette. Personale professionale e molto cortese. Ottimo il rapporto qualità prezzo considerando anche il luogo In questa circostanza è proprio il caso di usare il detto questo pranzo è la "Morte" sua!!! A presto

27/06/2025: We had a delicious lunch at this restaurant, the Castle in the Sky. When we first saw this city, we were shocked by its beauty and magnificence. It was lunchtime when we arrived and we saw this well-reviewed restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating. We ordered two salads, one Italian ham, a steak and special pasta for children. We are very grateful to the store for preparing meals for the children. We thought every dish was delicious and the price was much cheaper than in Rome. We had a great lunch here.
28/05/2025: This place is an absolute 10! It is very much worth the walk and all the steps! The food was amazing, the atmosphere is amazing! Each dish was better than the next! You will not be disappointed!

24/06/2025: What can I say! There are no words, everything is exceptional, quality of food, welcome, environment, a place to try. It is advisable to book and come during the week because it is quieter. Turn off your phones when you enter and let yourself be enveloped by everything that surrounds you.
