Only someone who doesn't understand a thing about cooking, and probably not even about good food, can give "Ristorante Il Gambero" a star. Here, you "eat really well," but above all, you eat with an open mind: you have to let yourself be guided by the chef's suggestions, who has a personal, unconventional vision and—not to mention—is also "very nice in his own way."
This is not the place for those who put on airs, for those who want to be pampered every three minutes, or for those who mistake obsessive attention for quality. If you need constant confirmation or to feel like the center of the universe, "look elsewhere."
You come here to eat, to trust, and to appreciate authentic cuisine, without unnecessary frills. The "value for money" is excellent, a rare thing these days, and the overall experience is more satisfying than many restaurants that are "starred" only by reviews.
Recommended for those with "a good palate, curiosity, and a modicum of self-irony." Everyone else can just keep giving stars at random.

It's not just any restaurant; it's an experience! An experience that lets you try local food and its different versions. We've been here four times, and it's always been top-notch. The appetizers are huge, with a wide variety of food, all very fresh, tasty, and homemade. You can feel like you're at your grandmother's house, where they bring out the dishes nonstop during the appetizers. High-quality seafood and fish. What's also incredible is that the owner manages everything himself: cooking, serving, etc. There's sometimes a helper, but the essence is the same. This place is a sure bet for good food. If you're looking for something ordinary, a place where they give you the menu and everything is casual, don't come here; this isn't the place for you. But if you want to experience being in a local's home, you'll love it!

If you read comments about impoliteness or lack of choice, know that this restaurant is a different experience than what you're used to these days. Il Gambero is a wonderful experience. It's true, you don't have to book anything; Giovanni chooses for you. You eat all the locally sourced produce he grows and serves, sometimes himself. Everything is always incredibly fresh and delicious. He prepares the best things he's produced himself or sourced fresh from local producers. Nothing gourmet about it; the cuisine here is authentic, the kind that ultimately leaves you feeling good. Satisfied and relaxed.
I've always found the staff to be very courteous; they joke around and keep you company (when they can).
If you're looking for a location and Instagrammable dishes (a term I hate), maybe this place isn't for you. I go there often, I love the owner, I love the food, it makes me feel like a child again. Happy.

The owner suggests the daily specials, and they're always excellent. The appetizers are incredibly generous, as are the portions of first and second courses. The price is excellent! The pizza is also excellent. What makes it special, which I love, is that it treats customers as they deserve. You go to a restaurant to eat well, that's all. If you're a polite customer, you'll be treated as such. But if you're rude or overly pretentious... go to another restaurant. You should come here to trust in the owner's care and professionalism. The waitress is incredibly friendly; the negative reviews will probably come from people who didn't understand her sense of humor... or maybe they weren't the right customers for this fantastic restaurant.

Authentic Italian food from the Amalfi Coast. Upon arrival, they'll ask if you want antipasto or not. The antipasto usually consists of anchovies, Busqueta olives with cheese, bread and cheese, and fried croquettes. For the main course, they have a variety of seafood dishes, accompanied by pasta. I recommend asking for your favorite protein, as they don't always have all the seafood options. Excellent food and atmosphere, plus you can pay by card and it's super affordable.
