The whole-wheat and cereal rolls/croissants are incredible. Even in France, I haven't eaten anything this good! We went there twice in one day! The baker's advice is also excellent. Thank you so much.

Rifugio Osa Valmadrera

01/09/2025: The atmosphere is lovely, located at a beautiful crossroads, and a short walk toward the little church offers a beautiful view. They have plenty of tables outside, some covered, and some inside, which I haven't had a chance to evaluate. The service is sometimes nice, sometimes annoying—so annoying?! At the register, there was an inviting menu, but when it came time to order, it wasn't the current one; the options were rabbit or sausage (maybe Wednesdays are different?). The sausage and polenta were good, but after reading about stew with polenta on the menu, I was left craving it! I ordered a slice of cake; it was very cheap, but I later discovered that this was because it was a supermarket-bought tart, so the price was reasonable. PS: The above is my review, not taking into account that it's run by volunteers, to whom, of course, my respect and thanks are due.
03/08/2025: Lunch at this refuge is always a treat. Also, visit the meticulously curated museum. Be careful of the Queen of England; you must use "Her Majesty" in her presence. Well done, well done, well done.

07/10/2025: A truly positive experience; we ate and slept at the refuge. I'm vegan, and after letting them know in advance, they worked hard to find a suitable dinner for me. The owners were incredibly helpful and kind. The refuge is very welcoming, except for the showers, which aren't very functional, but for one night, you can live with that. Being in the middle of nowhere with a splendid view and rock music in the background is priceless!
07/09/2025: I spent a night at the Capanna during a two-day trek and can't wait to return. Marco, Isabella, and the other people who recently took over the refuge are fantastic. The hospitality was perfect, the food AMAZING. Marco is a culinary perfectionist and personally selects his meat from local farms. The goulash was heartwarming, the polenta cooked in a copper pot had a perfect crispy crust, and the pizzoccheri were simply the best I've ever eaten. The rooms and bathrooms are spotless and welcoming. I miss it already.
