Il Cappero Rosso In Pizzo

Exactly one year later, we decided to dine again at this restaurant located in the splendid Piazza della Repubblica. The reservation was the same, but when we arrived at the appointed time, we realized there wasn't a table ready (except for a cramped table in a side alley). We waited for a better table and, after a few minutes, we were seated at a coffee table set for four. No complaints about the food or the speed of service, which were excellent, but the four plates were much larger than the table, and about a third of the plate overflowed, risking that, when cutting the pizza, it would end up on your clothes (!). And that's not to mention the fact that we had to put our drinks on the floor; otherwise, it would have been impossible to eat. I waited for one of the waiters to volunteer, but nothing happened. Gentlemen, it was nice to enjoy your food, but this situation is absolutely unacceptable: try to improve the welcome or avoid taking the reservation.

We loved this place and came back 3 times during our stay in Pizzo. The pizza is great and very affordable, the french fries are also good as a light snack and the staff is extremely friendly. Definitely the best pizza we had for this price (6€ for a Margaritha)! I would recommend this to everybody, don‘t miss this place when visiting Pizzo.

Unpretentious. Nice location because you eat in Pizzo's main square, but inside it's nothing special. Service isn't excellent. The food is very average. If you happen to be in the area, you can try it without expecting anything special. Prices are a little high, but appropriate for the tourist area.

The pizza was delicious, especially the Margherita, but the four cheeses were really good - I recommend them. The ravioli were very weak, a small portion, they tasted good overall but something didn't sit right with me (the taste of the sauce reminded me of canned fish in tomato sauce). The service was very nice, helpful, and spoke English.

You eat in the square, in Pizzo. On sunny summer days, having lunch in the square can be a good idea. Good food, well presented, top-notch wine cellar. Capable and accommodating staff. The special thing is that the dessert - the Pizzo truffle, which is the black one - is ordered at the (historic) bar in front!
