A truly positive experience ... on special occasions we tend to provide just enough service and an acceptable menu. However, in this establishment, Il Capanno, it was a more than excellent mid-August lunch, with a truly 5-star fish-based menu! Fast and active staff across the board, plentiful courses with refresher, air-conditioned environment and the price is truly super‼️ Beautiful experience.

Il Capanno è la nostra meta estiva da anni, una location spettacolre dove trascorrere piacevoli giornate in piscina e la possibilità di gustare dei grandi piatti di pesce di ottima qualità. Straconsigliato

Per la prima volta siamo venuti a cena al Capanno, il posto è bellisimo, lo conosco perchè viene spesso mio figlio con degli amici per trascorrere delle giornate in piscina. Durante la cena abbiamo assagiato gli antipasti di mare, e poi per proseguire dei gnocchi alla crema di scampi, devo dire molto buoni entrambi , prodotti freschi e di qualità. Tornerò sicuramente ad assaporare altri piatti.

Really beautiful location, tidy and clean, with tables for lunch/dinner by the pool. But also sunbeds, deckchairs and umbrellas for a relaxing day.

Very nice place, beautiful exterior with a large and well-kept garden, there is also a space dedicated to children, we ate delicious fish, even my celiac son was able to eat everything.

We went yesterday for a baptism, a beautiful place, very well looked after, plentiful and delicious food, very friendly and helpful staff, outside a garden and swimming pool, we spent a lovely evening, thank you, we will be back to spend the day at the pool

20/08/2024: We had dinner under the trees in a citrus garden together with our three boys, finding kindness and courtesy but above all quality. We'll be back...
18/08/2024: As soon as we arrived, the owner approached us and asked us what we wanted to eat: we replied that we would have ordered a starter and a second course; he tells us "then I'll bring you a starter and for the second course I have a nice sea bream caught today". We accept the proposal. Result: total of 200 euros for two (100 euros for starter and 90 euros for sea bream). Absurd experience began to arrive various portions of appetizer but all tiny: 4 marinated anchovies he charged 17 euros, the mussels were ALL empty and also around 17-18 euros, 4 meatballs 17 euros. On the other hand, the waiters were very kind. The price was absolutely out of the market, perhaps they had to compensate for the evening given that there were only 4 seated tables? Among other things, there is another Chinappi in Formia, Michele Chinappi, which is where we wanted to go and which had been recommended to us, but unfortunately we made a mistake in booking. Edit (18/08): Mr. Stefano Chinappi, after the review, contacted me: he invited me and my girlfriend to his restaurant and apologized for what happened, expressing his willingness to remedy what happened. Yesterday (Saturday 17/08) he had the thought of writing to me again to invite me to go to dinner with him, but unfortunately I was no longer in the area. He then had the foresight to reimburse me for all the starters (100 euros). Errors/mistakes can happen (similar events have happened to me other times), but this type of attention to the customer is certainly to be appreciated and, at least personally, no restaurateur has ever been so present after paying the bill and has ever shown this. kind of attention. We will definitely return when we are in the area!
