What a fun, interesting museum! Any fan of cinema - and in particular, Italy's contribution to it - should definitely check it out.

Cinecittà (Italian for "City of Cinema") is Italy's most important film production center and one of the most legendary in the world.
Cinecittà Studios
Located about 9 km from the center of Rome, they were inaugurated in 1937 and are known as "Hollywood on the Tiber."
History: They have been the setting for more than 3,000 productions, including classics such as Ben-Hur, La Dolce Vita, and films by Federico Fellini.
Visits (2026): Currently, they offer the Cinecittà si Mostra (Cinecittà on Display) experience, which allows visitors to explore permanent monumental sets such as Ancient Rome, 15th-century Florence, and the Temple of Jerusalem.
Services: The tour includes museums with original costumes, scripts, and exhibits on the creative process of filmmaking. Admission and a guided tour cost approximately €12.50.
Cinecittà World
Not to be confused with the production studios. It's a theme park located about 25 minutes from the original studios.
Attractions: It features roller coasters (like Altair), water parks, and simulators inspired by different film genres.
Prices 2026: General admission is around €29 for adults if purchased at the box office, with discounts for online purchases.
Location and Access
Studios: Located next to the Cinecittà station on Line A of the Rome Metro.
Park: Located on Via di Castel Romano, accessible by car or dedicated buses from the city.
To plan a visit to the studios in 2026, you can consult the official Cinecittà website.

I must admit, when I chose the guided tour of the film studio, I expected that, in addition to the model of ancient Rome (which can only be viewed with a guide), I'd be able to enter one or two studios and see a bit of the film's kitchen. But it turned out that the guide was talking and showing photos while standing outside the closed studio doors. It's a bit weak; it wasn't how I imagined a tour of the dream factory would be :-/ And you can take such a tour comfortably sitting in front of your computer. To give a little credit, I'll mention that the exhibition in the museum, accessible without a guide, is quite impressive.

A very positive experience, with an interesting presentation by the guide, a visit to the Ancient Rome set, the set of a family doctor, the Fellini exhibition, the beautiful presidential palace, rich in history, anecdotes, and a collection of best-selling films, the submarine... a truly thrilling experience. Highly recommended for adults and children alike. ❤️

It was one of the places I wanted to visit when I went to Rome, especially for film lovers. It's a delight. The exhibition on the history of Italian cinema is truly comprehensive, as is the Fellini exhibition. I would have liked to visit the studios, but they weren't available that day.

What disappointed us was the limited screening of Cinecitta. We visited the Museum and in the two hours we stayed we saw very few visitors. The Museum is very good and we highly recommend it. It is easily accessible by metro line A. It is a shame that it is not shown more.

The visit was okay, I was expecting something more elaborate but oh well, it's not Universal Studios.
