Il Brigante In Piedimonte matese

We found "Il Brigante" while researching dinner options during a weekend in Piedimonte Matese. From the atmosphere to the food, everything was perfect. The place is truly welcoming and unique, reminiscent of a medieval tavern, and the food is equally as good. We had a meat dish (skewers and steak with fries and grilled scamorza cheese), which was truly delicious. Vegetarians also have plenty of options, despite the menu featuring many meat dishes: various combinations with scamorza cheese, bruschetta, and side dishes! They also offer pizza, which we'll definitely try next time. In addition to the dinner, the staff are all incredibly nice, and an added bonus is the beautiful view when you arrive at the restaurant! Highly recommended, we'll be back!

Trattoria Il Brigante in Piedimonte Matese offers a truly excellent dining experience, featuring flavorful, well-prepared, and authentic dishes. The simple, welcoming atmosphere makes the meal even more enjoyable, while the quality of the dishes, flavorful and carefully prepared, leaves a lasting impression. It's a place where you can truly enjoy the food, and where culinary tradition is celebrated with great care.

A very unique place, with medieval settings recreated inside, modern masonry decorated to look like it was from the era, and shields, helmets, and a clock on the walls, apparently made by the owners' father. They'll probably set up outdoor tables in the summer. We ate inside, also because it's located in the highest part of Piedimonte Matese, practically on the mountain. The view is truly breathtaking. Unfortunately, we can't say the same about the food we ate. The fried food was still raw and the fritters were overcooked. The pizza wasn't very nice, with sour tomato sauce and melted mozzarella, as if it were fondue. The dough wouldn't be bad if the other ingredients were of a higher quality. We haven't tried the restaurant, so we can't comment on the dishes and food, but based on what we ate, I don't think I'll return. It's a real shame because it's truly a unique place.
