The food is truly delicious! I gave it 4 stars for the service and atmosphere because the tables are on the street, with plastic cutlery, and you have to pick up your own plates and bring them to your table. But these are just minor details; the food is excellent and definitely worth a visit.

For years now, it's been the best place to feel in Acireale in terms of cuisine. Simple, fast, welcoming, and delicious, it practically ticks all the boxes. Anyone who truly knows the people behind the counter, those who manage everything from the smallest to the largest, knows that the Mantellinas are people who had the brains, but above all the heart, to open a place like this. The food is very good, the service is extremely friendly, the prices are incredibly outrageous for what you get (in a good way), and the mother who runs the place is incredibly kind, generous, and never forgets her customers.

Excellent sandwiches, plated meat could be improved. I've eaten at I Mantellina several times, and I must say the sandwiches are truly delicious: the sausage and caponata sandwich, in particular, is a true specialty, tasty and well-prepared. As for the plated beef, my experience wasn't as positive: the cut was unusual and poorly finished, and the meat was tough and sinewy. It was a generous portion, but I would have preferred less quantity and higher quality. In summary: I definitely recommend the sandwiches, which are the restaurant's strong point, but I wasn't entirely sold on the plated beef.
