Hubenbauer In Varna

When we travel the Brenner Pass, we pass through it whenever possible. Just minutes from the Bressanone exit. Rustic beauty, both inside and out. Everything we've tried ranges from very good to excellent. A must-try, when available, is the chestnut soup: it's a magical potion that transports you back in time (in fact, it's much richer and tastier today than it was 190 years ago). My only regret: I've never found mushrooms.

An absolutely positive experience. We started with a platter: the menu says it's for one person, but it was really generous, so two of us ate easily. Then I finally got to try the famous dumplings with sauerkraut (I highly recommend the spinach ones). I finished with soup, but given the amount of food on the platter, I could have done without it. Very friendly staff. Recommendation

We were passing through and stopped here completely spontaneously, and we were absolutely thrilled! Fantastic food at incredibly reasonable prices, combined with excellent service. Thank you! We'll definitely be back.

The owner is incredibly friendly, as are Lissi, who works in the service, and everyone else involved... The food is delicious; we went there once for dinner on Sunday and again for lunch on Thursday. Highly recommended! And the homemade ice cream with doughnuts is fantastic... The house apple juice is divine... The shandy from their own brewery (the beer)... you can tell a lot of love and passion has gone into this place... Finally, we even took some of their own ham home with us.

A wonderful place: We stopped for a (late) lunch after exploring Brixen. The food is prepared with love and is delicious – just like the drinks (the apple juice is great, the beer is excellent, and the ice cream is award-winning). There's a playground for children, and the owner delighted our kids with his magic tricks. We highly recommend Hubenbauer and had a lovely afternoon there!

It's a very beautiful old building that has been newly renovated. Next door is the in-house brewery, which brews a variety of excellent beers. We went there for lunch with a group during the Törggelen (traditional German festive season). The food was good, but we had to wait a long time for both the drinks and the food, as I felt there were far too few staff for the number of guests. Furthermore, the waiters were unfriendly and very stressed. We wanted a second helping of the three-course Törggelen menu because it wasn't very extensive. We got one, but we were charged extra for the second helping when we paid.
