We went to the restaurant for dinner, so I can't comment on the rooms, but I know they were recently renovated. Unfortunately, the weather was bad that evening, so we weren't able to sit on the terrace, which I think is worth the view. FOOD: Good seafood dishes and generous portions of the pasta dishes. STAFF: Friendly and helpful

The food is truly excellent! Try the mixed seafood appetizer to sample different versions of fish, and the spaghetti with sea urchins is highly recommended!

We had a wonderful time. We booked a half-board room at the hotel. We wandered around during the day and returned to Pomonte every evening. The hotel had a special agreement with the L'Ogliera restaurant. Everyone was very kind, the service was attentive to making guests feel comfortable, and the dishes were prepared beautifully and quickly. Everything was good, very tasty. We went there three nights in a row. I recommend the raw fish and mixed grilled fish.

OGLIERA RESTAURANT 😊 We didn't stay at the hotel, so this review is limited to the restaurant, where we dined twice as external guests. ATMOSPHERE 4 ⭐: In summer, you dine on a beautiful, airy terrace, cool thanks to the breeze that channels between Monte Capanne and the sea—definitely the coolest location we've found in the area. The view is partly of the sea and partly of the beautiful mountains beyond. The overall atmosphere is relaxing and pleasant. SERVICE 4 ⭐: We have no complaints and haven't encountered any of the poor service or inconveniences mentioned in other reviews. The staff we interacted with were kind, punctual, and professional. A special mention goes to the WINE; the markup is the most honest we've found in the area, which is a pleasant thing. We always order the same Elban bottles, and comparisons are easy to make. The difference between one place and another is sometimes notable, in some cases the markup is unjustifiable, and when it's excessive, it's never a good calling card. They're decidedly honest here. CUISINE 4 ⭐: traditional Elban dishes, delicious, each with its own distinct character and very different flavors, satisfying portions. Among the dishes we tasted, we highlight the flagship, "Spaghetti all'Ogliera," tasty and flavorful, they have a well-deserved reputation and are worth a try if you like full-bodied flavors; "Spaghetti with Sea Urchin Eggs," all the flavor of the sea but well-balanced; "Gnocchi alla Margherita" with spider crab and vegetables, a delicate dish that perhaps needs an extra ingredient to give it more character. The "Elban-style stuffed calamari" is excellent and highly recommended. I won't deny that we came here specifically to eat them. 😁 The fresh house desserts are the usual tiramisu, crema catalana, panna cotta, etc., offered in a basic version and, given the slightly more refined overall feel, they seem to be a somewhat neglected part of the menu. We hope for improvement. 😊 The prices are fair for the local cuisine, quality, and quantity offered. Reservations are recommended. If you want to eat stuffed calamari, make sure they're available in advance. Even though the same owners manage the hotel of the same name, this is a fully-fledged à la carte restaurant. We've replicated this restaurant and will continue to do so.

Now a Pomonte institution. Recommended by my cousin (who also stayed at the hotel), we went for dinner this evening, staying at the nearby Fetovaia. L'Ogliera has been a staple for good seafood and generous portions on western Elba for over 50 years. The restaurant is located on the ground floor of the hotel of the same name, with a sea view from inside. The furnishings are minimal and elegant, suggesting a recent renovation. We started with two appetizers: tomato bruschetta (very generous) and a mixed seafood appetizer: nine succulent selections including octopus, shrimp, cuttlefish, stuffed mussels, salmon, and cod. Next, we opted for baked turbot with vegetables. It was cooked and presented perfectly. Since we have a two-year-old with us, we also ordered penne with meat sauce (which was also very well done). Friendly, fast, and very professional service. Well done, we'll be back!

It speaks of the authentic flavors of a family tradition that honors the raw ingredients: seafood dishes take center stage, with recipes full of authentic flavor, like the famous house spaghetti. It's a cuisine of substance, a true tribute to the gifts of the sea. Returning, I noticed a dual-spirited service: sometimes impeccable, with smiling and professional staff, other times slower, almost at the mercy of the island's tranquil pace. A small inconsistency that doesn't detract from an overall excellent experience.

We came to the restaurant twice in 5 days. I think it's one of the best restaurants on the Elba Island. The service is a bit slow, but given the island setting, that's to be expected. Everyone is super friendly, and the owner is a real boss! We loved it. If the island is full of tourist traps, this place is not one of them. I highly recommend it!

Ein sehr gemütliches Restaurant, das Essen und der Wein ist super, die Bedienung freundlich und die Atmosphäre wie zu Hause. Die Gniocci mit Krebs sind sehr zu empfehlen😍 Auch der Wolfsbarsch mit Pistaccie gebacken war der absolute Hammer! Der Besitzer Giorgo ist ein sehr aufgeweckter Mensch, welcher gerne auch mal ein Schwätzchen haltet. Wer absolut kein Italienisch kann, ist dort verloren, auf italienisch zu bestellen sollte jetzt nun jeder noch können ;) Ansonsten Google Translate hilft 😁

10/08/2025: We had lunch here and the experience was fantastic. The rich and varied appetizers gave us a taste of true Calabrian cuisine in all its authenticity: the meatballs are reminiscent of those homemade by our grandmother. I recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants to try authentic, traditional Calabrian cuisine. Excellent value. An excellent experience, highly recommended!
