Enzo the owner/host was very welcoming and although my friend Alberto and I showed up early he kindly sat us down and let us enjoy his veggies, cheeses & other fresh delicacies buffet while waiting for the chef to be ready. No menu as it always changes and we decided for a couple of his outstanding Risottos (their specialty); my fried Alberto ordered the one with Gorgonzola and for myself Zucca e Amaretti. We both licked the plate and wanted a second helping but being just lunch and my friend having to go back to work we kind of sadly to pass. So if you happen to be in Cremona you should definitely consider l'Hosteria del Cavo for at least 1 time. Please be sure to make a reservation as it a tiny rustic yet very clean restaurant tacked in a "dead end" little street. You won't regrette their food and wine offerings. Buon Appetito & Cin Cin. We had dinner at this restaurant, discovered by chance. The risottos were truly excellent, the appetizers were buffet-style, and the desserts were delicious. We'll definitely be back next time we're in Cremona.

What can I say that's different from what others have already posted? Nothing, in fact, I also found a family atmosphere, friendly and helpful staff, and excellent food.

A small, very welcoming place, tastefully decorated, with friendly and always helpful staff. For dinner with friends, we had appetizers from the buffet, risotto with pork shank and salami paste, pumpkin cream with gorgonzola, truffle, zucchini flowers, and zucchini. (Incredibly delicious and plentiful.) Wine and water were served, and desserts included: torta paradiso and zabaglione, chocolate panna cotta, and chocolate meringues. We paid a fair price, highly recommended, and will definitely return. The stars are well deserved.
