In viaggio da Cremona a Brescia, DeGustibus si perde nella campagna cremonese e alfine, quasi per caso, si imbatte nell’Hostaria. Sempre per caso entra, saluta, si accomoda ed esce certo che mangiar bene si può ! Quel che ho preso non importa, potete prendere quel che volete dall’ampio menù alla carta ( un neo il menù di affari), e uscirete più che soddisfatti. Non è dietro casa ma si fanno viaggi per cause molto peggiori. Quindi tutti all’Hostaria San Carlo ad assaggiare una delle migliori cucine italiane. Naturalmente ad una cifra modica…

Stunning location I highly recommend

A dinner with flying colours! •Location - a beautiful setting for this restaurant in the middle of the Crema countryside. A country road will lead you to this very small village where it will not be difficult to locate the restaurant. Inside it is well looked after, precise and tidy throughout. • Service - definitely impeccable! Very kind and available to accommodate even some variations in the dishes which is often not a given, perfect waiting times, very little to say, • Food - little talk: you eat very well! The pasta with squid tufts was excellent, especially the touch of garlic. The risotto was textbook: cooked al dente as the kitchen dictates, impeccable creaming, excellent general consistency. As for the second courses, expectations were now high and we were equally satisfied, the fried scamorza was a delight while the lamb pieces were tasty and very soft. The desserts end on a high note even if perhaps I was the part that was a little more anonymous compared to the level of the other courses. The bill was honest, absolutely in line with how much we ate and the service we received. A truly beautiful place that is worth the stop

The road is a bit tortuous but you can get there with GPS. Very welcoming and helpful managers. Wide choice of menu. Business lunch but luxurious! Very good and very nice food. I recommend it. After lunch you can take a nice walk immersed in the countryside. Optimal.

Excellent place with a beautiful atmosphere where you can eat traditional dishes but with a touch of refinement. The only flaw is perhaps a little expensive

Il locale è gradevole e anche la proposta del menu’ sia come varietà di piatti che come presentazione, avrei dato anche un punteggio più alto se non fosse che: Alterna piatti davvero ottimi (risotto con osso buco fantastico, dolci eccezionali) per poi scivolare su alcuni dettagli come le verdure fritte presenti nell’ antipasto di terra piuttosto sgradevoli. Per non parlare del servizio. I ragazzi dello staff sono bravi e gentili ma quando si serve un tavolo i piatti vanno serviti contemporaneamente (o quasi) a tutti i commensali, non si può portare i piatti “a rate”, e’ la prima regola. Personalmente non ho trovato nemmeno particolarmente empatico il titolare. Fortunatamente il conto è stato più che onesto.
