Hokusai Ramen In Roma

This is already the second time we have been to Hokusai and we both came away very satisfied. I will start by describing the atmosphere of the place: small but welcoming, with every detail carefully studied. Everything perfectly recalls the Japanese style: from the particular decorations to the nice choice of music, composed of more or less famous anime theme songs and other songs. In particular, the Japanese tables with dividers are beautiful, making the experience intimate and authentic. We have tasted several dishes, one better than the other, but a special note goes to their curry, in particular the katsu curry, the takoyaki and the jigoku ramen, a real explosion of flavors for the palate. The ingredients are clearly of the highest quality and the quality-price ratio is excellent. The service is professional, kind and not at all intrusive. Even though we have recently discovered this little Japanese pearl in the heart of Rome, for us it has already become a guarantee. We will definitely return several times.

Cute, Japanese style but as far as the food is concerned it absolutely needs improvement... the ramen decent but the rest....

I had the pleasure of visiting this Japanese restaurant and I must say it was an exceptional dining experience. The place is clean and well looked after, with a welcoming and relaxing atmosphere. The staff was impeccable, trained and professional. They were able to advise me on the best dishes and answered all my questions with courtesy and competence. But the real strong point of this restaurant is the cuisine. The traditional Japanese dishes were prepared with care and attention to detail, and the result was truly excellent. I tried several dishes and I must say that they were all delicious. In summary, I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves Japanese cuisine. The value for money is great and the service is excellent. Don't hesitate to visit it, you won't regret it!

I tried this place yesterday and I must say that the atmosphere is really nice, welcoming and relaxing, excellent for a dinner as a couple or with friends. Unfortunately, not everything was perfect, but let's go into the details. I give the food 4 stars because you can see that it is of quality, but the ramen which is the main dish served by the place is TOO salty. Lots and lots of salt, both the one with soy, the one with salt and the miso. I've eaten ramen in many places, it's a dish I love, and only here was it so salty. It wasn't so salty that it couldn't be eaten, but still I had to drink more frequently than usual to be able to finish eating. The Karaage on the other hand was very good and balanced and was useful for recovering from the flavor of the ramen. The matcha tiramisu, A DELIGHT. I had never tried this and I must say that at first glance I didn't understand whether I liked it or not, but the more I continued to eat the more I realized that it was really good! Service. The service is a bit of a sore point, which I give 3 stars. We were served by 2 waiters: a boy and a girl. They gave us the idea of ​​not being very organized and of being a bit chaotic, without knowing who manages the orders and both of us spending one or more times asking the same things, despite having communicated with one first. The real problem was when the girl, to justify being a little awkward, told us that she had a fever and wasn't feeling very well. I felt very sorry for her and I understand everything, but since you get very close to the customers at the table to put down the various things, you can't say you have a fever and feel sick because you could infect us too. If you are ill you should not work, especially if you are in contact with the public and with the food you are going to serve. COVID should have taught us something. However, all in all I give 4 stars because it is not a place to fail, but simply to return to confirm or deny first impressions, especially with the service. However, I had a good time and the company of friends alleviated the discomfort caused during the service, so in the end it was nothing serious. I just hope I didn't get a fever or cold from the girl 😅 Last point which is very important but has nothing to do with the venue itself: PARKING. It literally took me 30 minutes to find a place to park and I ended up 800 meters (about 10 minutes on foot) from the place, so plan a little beforehand. But it always depends on how lucky you are: my friends found a place immediately, while I didn't, so the choice is yours!

everything good, fast service and nice place at a great price

After many attempts we managed to try this restaurant. Good and plentiful dishes. Average gyoza. A really good chicken karage and a must try! Helpful staff and very quick service. Definitely recommended. The place could be better looked after but the quality of the dishes makes up for it

Excellent food at a cheap price

Siamo tornati per la seconda volta. Sempre un’esperienza molto positiva. Tutto buonissimo: cibo, location e servizio. Torneremo sicuramente.

Grazioso ristorante di cucina giapponese tipica, per la maggior parte piatti caldi (ramen in primis, poi gyōza, okonomiyaki, yakitori, tempura ecc.). No sushi, al limite onigiri. Sì percepisce la dedizione al ramen: ogni tipologia ha una intera pagina del menù dedicata! Sono riportati la tipologia e composizione del brodo, le guarnizioni incluse e quelle aggiuntive a piacere. La qualità è mediamente buona ma non convince del tutto, il ramen è pesante e la tempura è molto unta e poco croccante. Il servizio è cortese ma un po' inesperto. Il locale è confortevole anche se molto piccolo. Personalmente non amo i ristoranti con i turni ma capisco che così riescono ad accogliere più clienti. Nel complesso una buona esperienza ma si può fare di più
