I've been going there since I was 12, so for 25 years. It's a regular stop, like feeling at home, an extraordinary place to take a break surrounded by the Popera family, Cima 11, Croda dei Toni, Crode Fiscaline, the Scarperi, and other wise locals. Traditional dishes, well-executed, nothing superfluous.

Expensive, like everything in Sexten, but very good food and very polite service.

One of the most beautiful refuges I've ever visited! The view is breathtaking, and the peace you breathe is truly rejuvenating. The food is delicious and meticulously prepared, as is the interior. The atmosphere is warm and spotlessly clean (including the bathrooms, which is never a given). The service is excellent; it feels like being at home among family. It's easily accessible by car, but I honestly recommend leaving your car in the lower parking lot, about 1 km away, and enjoying the easy walk to the refuge.

In any case, I have rarely met such friendly hosts.

So if you're looking for a place that combines peace, enjoyment, and nature, the Helmhanghütte is a true insider tip, away from mass tourism. The view of Sesto and the surrounding Dolomites is a real highlight. Ideal for families – while the adults relax, the little ones can let off steam. Homemade specialties, snack platters, and regional dishes are just a few examples of the delicious cuisine.

Wonderful location, magnificent view.

We went both on skis directly on the slope that descends to Sesto in the Tre Cime Dolomiti ski area and by e-bike located directly on the trail, accessible on foot or by car. Family-run refuge, good food. The Holzer family 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

A truly peaceful place, with a fantastic view and pleasant food. The hostess was very kind and helpful. We'll definitely be back.
