I was looking for lunch in Salerno, just before Amalfi, and found this place - it was a huge hit! Thanks to the husband and wife who ran it, we had some seriously delicious food!

The service was impeccable! The food was very good and satisfying. The food was clearly prepared with love. The prices are very reasonable too. We highly recommend it. It's a restaurant frequented by locals, and while we're learning Italian and trying our best to speak it, the waitress spoke excellent English to make us feel comfortable. The service from everyone was extremely pleasant. We'll be back!

The place isn't huge but it's comfortable. The food is good, with a good selection and very unique desserts. The service is definitely satisfactory. Both the waitress and the chef are very kind, helpful, and attentive. This is our second time here and we're always very satisfied.

A quick lunch after returning from a ceremony It was VERY good. Care and passion in one dish. I loved the stuffed zucchini flowers and the ricotta and lemon ravioli with zucchini flowers and mussels. The tiramisu sbagliato was SUPERB.

Open Gate

06/11/2025: Open Gate Hotel in Praiano was absolutely spotless, you can tell right away how much pride the family takes in keeping everything clean and customer first. You truly feel like you’re stepping into their home with how warmly they welcome and cater to guests. The on-site restaurant served some of the best dinner we had in all of Praiano. The breakfast that’s included is perfect, with something for everyone. There’s a great spread of American options but also an authentic Italian breakfast with fresh pastries, fruit, and local specialties that were out of this world. The location is really great. Its about a 10 minute walk to the marina, a bus stop right out front which Pasquale helped make sure we caught and a 5 minute taxi ride to the center or 20 minute walk. This was not my first time visiting Praiano but now I know about this gem. Between the view, the food, and the incredible hospitality, Open Gate Hotel made our stay unforgettable and I will be back.
28/10/2025: Amazing staff who were very helpful with everything. Clean rooms and hotel overall. The restaurant was also very nice, great breakfast. Stunning views from the room. Easy to get around on the Amalfi coast. The hotel was located on a busy main road, so the noise from the road was quite loud. However, this was not a significant issue for us. Overall we had a very pleasant stay and will definitely come back!

La Porta del Gusto

18/01/2026: Excellent place, a must-visit for anyone passing by the outlet mall just a 10-minute drive away. Mrs. Tania is incredibly kind and meticulous in making you feel right at home. I recommend the buffalo ricotta-filled ravioli and the excellent fried fish, crispy, light, and delicious. Prices are fair, just like the owners. Well done!
04/01/2026: It's the restaurant/house where we go whenever we want to eat well, just like at home, in friendship, joy, and relaxation, with the tireless attention of Tania, always attentive to our needs and available to our countless requests, always with kindness and politeness. Excellent, quality food cooked by the super Luca, a superb chef, singer, and all-rounder. In the summer, the 18th-century location, with tables set in the garden, is truly a romantic and evocative experience. A big "bravi👏🏼" to Tania and Luca because their Porta del Gusto has now become for us the pleasure of entering the Door of our Home every time ❤️
