Gschnoferstall In Meltina

The best Kaiserschmarrn around Bolzano! Every time we're in South Tyrol, in Bolzano or Jenesien, we have to take a short hike to the Gschnoferstall and celebrate the Kaiserschmarrn ritual there. It's simply legendary! Super friendly service, the rest of the food is fantastic, the high plateau of the Salten... all the elements together create a truly luxurious experience.

After a nice walk, we stopped for lunch at this lovely, quiet spot. We hadn't booked, but we found a spot outside. It was crowded, but the service was quick and the food was excellent. The price was fair!

Despite the outdoor seating being full, we only waited about half an hour for our food. A huge compliment not only for the shepherd's macaroni and the vegetable platter with cheese and spinach dumplings, but also for the coffee we enjoyed to finish with a slice of homemade Black Forest cake :-) Thank you to the whole team! We felt very welcome.

A truly lovely place to visit! Just be prepared for it to be very busy. Even so, you'll usually find a spot. The place is very well organized and handles the large crowds calmly and professionally. The food was good, and the location is fantastic, as is the path leading there. Go for it! It's worth it! By the way, the dogs at the place—or rather, their owners—deserve special praise. They're incredibly well-behaved!

A wonderful spot in the middle of beautiful nature! We just wanted a drink and a bite to eat, so we ordered without great expectations. And then came the surprise: a Kaiserschmarren (smothered pancake) to die for! Freshly prepared, lightly caramelized, with raisins upon request and at our request, served with a delicious cranberry compote – you can't do better! And then the attentive service: I asked for some kitchen towels because we had accidentally spilled the entire cappuccino. I received them immediately, and without asking, a new cappuccino was on the table less than a minute later! That doesn't happen often, but it was fantastic! We'd love to come back!
