We took a pre-dinner break with beers and peanuts. The tables in the square outside were a nice spot to chat and relax, and enjoy the view of the village (church and bell tower) on one side and the peaks on the other, creating an imposing natural backdrop.

11/10/2025: Best canolo in Italy.. 10 years ago we visited Sicily. In small town Traomina we find the best canolo ever in Roberto’s deli. He would fill the canolo only when ordered. He said canolo gets wet after 15 minutes so never buy pre-filled canolo. Since then we saw a lot of bakery’s with canolo in window display and never buy . In le lumie they fill the canolo only when ordered in it was the best we had since Roberto in Traomina. We surely come once a week to have some. Keep the high standards!

07/09/2025: Note of the week: At Pizzeria 245, I found the Viareggio marinara I was looking for. A truly successful version, with authentic and well-balanced flavors. The staff was friendly and attentive, while the atmosphere, while welcoming, could use a few extra touches to express its full potential. An experience to keep in my food journal.
