A wonderful place with history on the Tiber embankment in the Trastovere district. This is a family business that has been operating continuously for decades in this place. All ingredients are homemade. The price is fixed - decorations and toppings are included in the price, so do not limit yourself in the treat. The place is worthy of all praise

At the Fonte d'Oro, you can enjoy authentic grattachecca. Alessandro and his family have been running this business for four generations. The Art Nouveau kiosk is a true gem, far removed from the usual kiosks selling everything. Here, you can cool off from the Roman heat with a lemon coconut! All the products are fresh, and the syrups are handcrafted according to their own recipe.

One of the best grattachecche I've ever tried!
Fresh fruit cut to order, perfectly crushed ice, and well-balanced flavors. Ideal for a refreshing break, especially on hot days. The price is more than fair for the quality. A must-try if you're in the area! The owner is friendly and kind. He even gave me a postcard of the historic kiosk.

For those who don't know, the kiosk at Fonte D Oro, the oldest in Rome, is the only one where you can find the famous Roman Lemoncocco.
Everything else is pure imitation; here, every detail has a story, including the syrups, which aren't the usual commercial ones but are handcrafted one by one.
Not to be missed.
