Great traditional coffee shop with affordable prices, we had 2 cappuccino and 1 cake for less than 7 euro. Worth the walk out of the old town to experience a slower way of life

The café is located near the old city gate of Udine, close to the train station, which is perhaps a 3-minute walk away. I like to go there when I'm traveling by train. The café is something of an institution and is just as popular with locals as it is with tourists. The staff speak English, which is not always the case in Italy. The service is super friendly and fast. Orders are brought out in lovely arrangements. For example, mineral water comes with a bowl of lemon and orange slices. You can sit outside or inside and enjoy your coffee or Aperol. In any case, the Gran Caffè Friuli has charm. Highly recommended.

High quality and attentive service: aperitifs are always served with fruit, chips, and small sandwiches. Breakfast is also excellent, especially the cakes, which are fabulous. The bartenders and waiters are friendly and helpful. The prices are slightly higher than average, but the experience is well worth it. Highly recommended.

Excellent selection of vegan brioches, and the one with maple syrup and walnuts was very good. The almond milk cappuccino wasn't exactly good.

Very nice cafe, away from the busy road, with excellent pastries, and a friendly service. Indoor and outdoor seating, but have no air conditioning. They keep the doors open and there were a lot of flies inside. The brioche’s are freshly made, and the coffee was very good. Recommended.

09/11/2025: Everything was exceptional! Luckily, we stumbled upon this restaurant by chance, which isn't as famous as others. We had a wonderful meal (an A+ for everything), home-cooked food, and not the usual fried calamari you find everywhere, but seasonal dishes prepared with great skill. The attention to detail was meticulous, and the place was very pleasant inside and out, not to make up for the crowds, but to pamper guests. I appreciated the staff, who were much friendlier than at any other restaurant in Lignano, but at the same time impeccable in their service. I didn't have to wait long for my food, and the price was reasonable. I highly recommend it to everyone, even those with children. I also really appreciated two other things: the tray in the bathroom with products available for guests in case of emergency (a fantastic idea) and the message on the menu (I won't tell you, you'll have to read it). My family and I felt truly welcomed!
02/11/2025: Even though we arrived quite late, they welcomed us very kindly, traditional food just as we like it... delicious ❤️
