Good ice cream, a little expensive

We had two gelatos with two flavors, pistachio and salted caramel and pistachio and mascarpone. While the premise was good with a decent base, both had a milky aftertaste, the result was truly disappointing. If I choose pistachio, I'd like the gelato to taste like pistachio; if I choose mascarpone, the same goes. But if the flavors all taste the same, something isn't right. It needs to be reconsidered.
