The ice cream here is fantastic! The staff were a bit chaotic after being paid, even though it wasn't busy; things were hectic behind the ice cream counter! Communication broke down briefly, even though all you had to do was choose your flavor. But the ice cream itself made up for it! I highly recommend the pistachio flavor!
Absolutely delicious!

This ice cream shop is located on the Rimini seafront, right in the center (Marina Centro). Be prepared to wait in line, but it's totally worth it! The ice creams are truly exquisite and made with top-notch ingredients. I absolutely loved a flavor called "Amarella" (the caption says it's Rita's secret recipe): delicious, really good, and, most importantly, you can taste the black cherries they use are Fabbri (a true Bologna delicacy!). In addition to ice cream, you can also enjoy crepes, bomboloni, and many other delicacies. Highly recommended!

Pellicano Beach Gelateria is more than just a refreshment point, but a small piece of the sociocultural mosaic of the Riviera Romagnola. Strategically located on Rimini's seafront, it embodies the evolution of the concept of the "Italian-style holiday" from the postwar period to the present.
Here is a historical and cultural analysis of this bastion of Rimini's culinary tradition.
1. Historical Context: The Gold of Rimini
After World War II, Rimini became the world's laboratory of mass tourism. The Marina Centro area and the adjacent seafronts were the stage for a radical transformation: from an elite resort for European nobility to a democratic capital of entertainment.
Venues like Pellicano Beach fit into this narrative as essential "staging posts." Their history is tied to the economic boom of the 1960s and 1970s, when the ritual of enjoying gelato while strolling along the seafront became a symbol of freedom and newfound well-being.
2. Architecture and Visual Identity
The venue's aesthetic reflects typical Adriatic seaside design:
• Open Space: Lightweight structures that blur the boundaries between inside and outside, allowing the sea breeze to flow.
• Colors and Lights: The use of bright colors and neon (or modern LED) lighting evokes Fellini's imagery of Rimini at night, vibrant and vibrant.
• The Symbol: The pelican, an exotic and friendly figure, evokes that holiday imagery that aims to make guests feel "different" from the urban daily routine.
3. Cultural Value: Gelato as a Social Ritual
In Romagna, gelato is not just a food, but a social connector. The Gelateria Pellicano Beach serves as:
• Point of Intersection: It unites foreign tourists seeking Italian authenticity and the venue taking its daily evening "vasca" (stroll).
• Artisan Presidium: In an age of globalized chains, maintaining an identity tied to local artisanal production is an act of cultural resistance. The selection of raw materials (often locally sourced, such as hazelnuts or seasonal fruits) speaks to Italy's biodiversity.
