Last time I will set foot in this ice cream shop. For the first time in years I was served by the lady, and she was really terrible in the answers she gave me. I asked for a chocolate cup for my son, and while he was already pouring the chocolate into the cup I asked if it was possible to also add the cream (my tone was half mortified because I thought he might have difficulty putting two flavors in a cup intended for a taste) and without even looking at me he mumbles something. I ask again and, annoyed, she tells me: we don't do half-hearted things. At first I didn't understand what he meant by this sentence so I let it go and simply took it as a “no”. I continue with the choice of my cone and ask if I could try a flavor that was new to me (figs and walnuts). She looks at me strangely as if I had made an absurd request and with a very annoyed look she points to a sign that says: "no half flavors and no tasting of ice cream". I'm sorry I didn't read it before otherwise I wouldn't have even asked, but the point is that there are ways of saying things. For example: ma'am, I'm sorry, I can't put two flavors in one cup, do you want me to make two separate cups? Or: I'm sorry but from this year we no longer offer ice cream tasting. Needless to say, I OBVIOUSLY didn't get any cones for myself because I was really disappointed, and the other 5 people who were with me already had their cones in hand, otherwise we would all have left empty-handed. I later understood that “half a flavour” meant two flavors for the price of one. But who ever said I wouldn't pay for two flavors?? Absurd. And I would also like to point out that any ice cream shop lets you taste the ice creams, proudly to encourage you to choose new flavours. Mr. Pierpaolo has always done it and is certainly kinder so I don't understand this disgusting attitude. In any case, as I already said, this episode marks the last time in this ice cream shop. Sin.
