Gelateria Il Duomo Sorrento In Sorrento

We went to the place specifically to try the typical Delizie al limone dessert, which in August 2025 cost 5 euros. I ordered two and they asked us if we were going to sit down. We decided to sit down, already expecting a higher price for the product or a cover charge, as usual. We were told that the dessert is only served at the table in a different way, accompanied by gelato. In fact, three different scoops of ice cream and some cones, whipped cream and the aforementioned dessert came. Everything was very tasty. And I think it even enhanced the experience of trying the delizie al limone. The only downside is that we were charged 12 euros for each dessert, as a "dessert of the day". At no point were we informed of the price of the dessert and it was not listed on the menu. That was our experience. We only didn't regret it because the dessert was good. But it's important to ask so you're not caught by surprise.

Average prices, very central location, and table service leaves a lot to be desired. Food and coffee aren't great, but they're okay.

Very nice sidewalk cafe with excellent gelato, pastries and espresso. Our server Maria is a local legend and was very friendly and helpful as were the rest of the staff. Great place to sit back and enjoy people watching while sipping a coffee and having a sweet treat . We went back 4 times in the 4 days we were in Sorrento.

Great and warm atIl Duomo Gelateria in Sorrento is an absolute must-visit. I tried their signature lemon dessert, commonly known as “Sorbetto di Limone served in a whole lemon” (often also called Lemon Delight). It’s a real, hollowed-out Sorrento lemon filled with refreshing lemon sorbet, topped with light whipped cream, crispy wafer biscuits, and a lemon macaron. It’s beautifully presented and incredibly fresh — perfectly balanced between sweet and tangy, and ideal for a warm day in Sorrento. The dessert is usually served with a small shot of limoncello or lemon syrup, which enhances the citrus flavor even more and makes the experience feel very authentic and local. What truly stood out, besides the dessert itself, was the staff. Everyone was exceptionally kind, warm, and welcoming. They were patient, cheerful, and genuinely happy to help, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable. Excellent gelato shop downtown. I highly recommend the limoncello gelato. The staff is friendly and helpful.

Excellent Gelato, we went to two other places and wished we would have found this one earlier as it definitely rose above. Maria is truly passionate about gelato and we will try to go back for her lemon cake before we leave as it sounds delicious too!

What a terrific place. Great wine and an incredible Maria taking care of us for 6 hours. She was fantastic and speaks . Even saw her creating an incredible ice cream birthday treat with candle and singing to the lady. Love this place and highly recommend.
