Love the Tremiti Islands! An absolute paradise. Take a small boat tour around the island with heaps of swimming opportunities.

My paradise. Pristine nature, coves with fantastic water. The only flaw is a bit of neglect here and there. There are things that could be improved.

A fantastic island for relaxing by a fabulous sea. Living there year-round must be a little less wonderful...

The Tremiti Islands have always been a small jewel of our sea: crystal-clear waters, wild cliffs, and panoramas that, in other places, would be enough to sustain quality tourism. However, the prevailing feeling when visiting them today is one of a missed opportunity.
Nature, which once appeared lush and well-kept, seems abandoned: paths overgrown with vegetation, unmaintained green areas, and spaces that convey more neglect than authenticity. The impression is that there is no protection project and that the original beauty is slowly succumbing to neglect.
To make matters worse, there are numerous holiday homes and tourist facilities in a visibly abandoned state: buildings that speak of a more prosperous past as holiday destinations, now reduced to empty skeletons, rusted shutters, and peeling walls. Far from offering decadent charm, they end up conveying a melancholy that clashes with the extraordinary nature of the landscape.
The Tremiti Islands remain a unique place, deserving of respect and appreciation, not only for tourists but especially for their residents. But without serious maintenance, planning, and protection, these islands risk becoming more of a faded memory than a desirable destination.

Wonderful water and breathtaking views, whether you're walking around the island or taking a boat trip around it.
Must-sees: Cala Spido (a particular spot where the cove is accessed by rope), Cala Matano, Grotta delle Viole, and the submerged statue of Padre Pio (reached by boat).
The pine forest offers large shaded areas.

I visited both the islands of San Domino and San Nicola. Both places are spectacular, both from a naturalistic and scenic perspective, with cliffs plunging into the azure sea and vast green spaces where the maritime pine forest reigns supreme.
The intensely blue sea and clear water.
Sunsets that bewitch the view.
The island of San Nicola is truly beautiful, with the abbey dominating the entire island.
The only major flaws found on the entire archipelago, which are not due to nature but to man, are the extremely high prices and the kindness of the local residents and business owners, who treat tourists with great condescension and like chickens to be plucked.

I was in the Tremiti Islands 35 years ago and the island of San Domino was beautiful and wild. Apart from the sea and the enchanting views, the rest is all concrete built for commercial purposes only. It was a deep disappointment... I will not return.

Fantastic island that stole my heart, I reached it in an hour with the ferry from the port of Termoli, upon arrival you are a bit "hounded" by the sellers of boat/rubber dinghy tours.
The only sandy beach present is located a few steps from the port, truly wonderful, well maintained, with excellent services and truly attentive lifeguards.
Wonderful water fresh and clear like few others. I can't wait to go back
