Honestly, I thought it would be better. The food is average; we order half a liter of white wine, 1 bottle of water, 1 plate of ravioli, 1 beef escalope, 1 plate of roast beef with potatoes. Nothing special (including the restaurant).

If we could give 10 stars, we would. The food is excellent, the service is friendly and top-notch, and the atmosphere is cozy. The cappuccino is also delicious. The friendliness of the staff is particularly noteworthy, as it's not something you can take for granted everywhere these days. We're there practically every day during our vacation. Thank you, and please stay just the way you are!

We always come here at least once when we're on vacation in Kaltern. Very good South Tyrolean cuisine, friendly service, and authentic. Workers from the surrounding area also come here for an after-work glass of wine. It might be too loud for some, but we always think it's great. Unfortunately, they didn't have any chestnut doughnuts today—they're absolutely amazing!

The food was excellent and plentiful. The restaurant is very cozy and authentically decorated. Everyone works together. A multi-generational business. Mom, Dad, Grandma, and the granddaughter... we have to especially mention them. There are few young people who are still so open, friendly, and so radiant. Above all, they can still converse with the guests. Truly a huge compliment for this warmth; for this reason alone, we'll definitely be back.

A traditional, local, feel well, perfect place to be. Local food at its best. No matter how satiated you are after this excellent meal offered there, you'd have to try at least one "Marillenknödel". Family run business, kind and nice and competent. A really good cost-benefit ratio and a sense of local friendliness and local comfort. Anytime again!

03/11/2025: Centrally located hotel with a beautiful view and everything within easy reach, including a free bus stop with the pass for touring South Tyrol. The staff and the owner are friendly, warm, and efficient. The cuisine is excellent, and the restaurant is always busy. Everything is tastefully decorated, as are the rooms. I stayed there on half-board from October 29th to November 2nd, and everything met my expectations. I can't wait to return.
03/11/2025: Excellent hotel decorated in a minimalist style, comfortable rooms with large bathrooms. Welcoming and courteous staff. Excellent breakfast buffet. We will return.

21/01/2026: For four years, I've been staying at this beautiful hotel in the winter, and I've also been here in the summer. In both seasons, I've had a wonderful time, thanks to the excellent location, the services, the stunning views, the comfortable rooms, the excellent food, and the wide variety of choices for breakfast and dinner. The spa offers ample space for total relaxation and privacy, and a menu of very pleasant treatments!
10/01/2026: We stayed at the Gran Baite last year during the Christmas holidays, including celebrating New Year's Eve at the hotel, and it was a simply wonderful experience. It's a historic hotel, with stunning architecture that immediately exudes charm and warmth. The rooms are beautiful, meticulously designed, and truly comfortable. The spa is wonderful, perfect for relaxing after a day on the snow, while the ski rental service was incredibly efficient and convenient. The restaurant also gave us great satisfaction: the cuisine is top-notch, and the hotel also features a gourmet restaurant open to guests, a testament to its sophisticated and high-quality cuisine. The bar offers a wide selection of wines, and every evening the atmosphere was made even more pleasant by the piano bar, a detail that truly makes all the difference. Once again, a truly enjoyable holiday in every way. Highly recommended hotel.
