Furtalm In Brennero

Very nice little alpine hut with friendly service and great views

Yesterday we visited the Malga Furtalm and were thrilled! Depending on your starting point (e.g., St. Anton or higher - Stein parking lot), a pleasant, easy hike leads to the hut through beautiful nature with waterfalls and a stunning panorama. We were very lucky: The hut had just opened on May 17th! Once at the top, we treated ourselves to a little refreshment – ​​the bacon dumpling soup and homemade Schlutzkrapfen were delicious. The menu may be small, but it's fine – and they even had fresh roast lamb as a daily special, which suggests seasonal cuisine. The service was warm and attentive – even the family's 9-year-old son helped with charm. The terrace offers a magnificent view, there's a sparkling clean restroom and a small children's area. The prices are absolutely fair, especially considering the alpine location and the short season. Conclusion: A wonderful place – we'd love to come back!

Excellent mountain hut reachable with a not too difficult hike. We parked before the barrier. (Now parking spaces are paid and no longer time slots). Once we arrived at the hut, there was a nice playground for the children and excellent dishes!
