Fugu Restaurant In Lecce

A virtually unique offering in Lecce and the surrounding area, in a spacious and tasteful location. The raw fish huramaki are excellent, the cooked fish one, unexpectedly, even better. The glazed duck (a slice, really, just right for one, impossible to share) is formidable. The tuna sashimi is fresh and tasty. The spaghetti and noodles are excellent, the vegetable ones are excellent, and the chicken ones are also quite good. It's a wise choice to include Susumaniello on the wine list, produced by several wineries and in a diverse range. The wait staff was extremely courteous and helpful, which more than made up for the hour-long wait between appetizers and first and second courses, for a reason we weren't entirely convinced by, and which wasn't taken into account at the register. The prices were considered fair. Definitely worth a try.

Nothing to complain about the sushi: the quality is always there, I've been there several times and it was good this time too. The only slightly negative note: despite the restaurant being only half full, the service was quite slow. That said, the staff was always friendly and helpful, although it felt like someone was missing who could really take charge. That said, I would always return: as long as the quality and friendliness remain this high, it's a place worth it. It always depends on what you're looking for... but honestly, for sushi, I'd never say no.

A totally legit Asian fusion restaurant in Lecce. We enjoyed it thoroughly.

This place is listed among the top five sushi restaurants in Puglia, which set high expectations. Unfortunately, it just didn’t live up to the hype. The experience was… fine. Not terrible, not great: just average. For a region with growing interest in Japanese cuisine and plenty of access to great fish, that’s simply not enough. There was nothing here that even remotely compares to the real Japanese experience in terms of quality and preparation. That said, a few nigiri stood out: the gambero rosso, branzino, and scallop were all enjoyable. But their take on ventresca (which they said it translated to midfatty or fatty tuna), supposedly their most exquisite dish, was frankly horrifying. It lacked the richness and texture you’d expect from true chūtoro or ōtoro, was soaked in oil and lime completely covering the real taste of the fish. Honestly I’m not even sure it was what they claimed it was, the terms they chose to translate might have been misleading. Yes, the quality is above your average all-you-can-eat spot, but that alone doesn’t make it special. There’s a clear effort here, but the result is more a failed experiment in fusion, they better stick to the freshness of fish. Three stars for a decent meal, but not worth being mentioned in any top list.

Excellent location with fantastic color combination, the staff is professional and courteous, helpful and discreet at the same time. There are no words to describe the food, from appetizers to main courses, quality and freshness. The quality/price ratio is commendable. Highly recommended
