From its name, Etnapolis promises something grandiose: a city at the foot of Etna, a place that evokes the magnificence of ancient urban planning or the grandeur of a modern metropolitan hub. With a name that recalls the solemnity of the Greek polis, I expected to find myself faced with a pulsating agglomeration of life, culture and architecture worthy of the title it bears. And instead, to my dismay, what I found was not a city, but a shopping mall. A succession of shops, illuminated shop windows and wide aisles full of trolleys and bags. No forum, no agora, no civic building where citizens could debate philosophy or politics. Only fast food, hypermarkets and the usual carousel of people looking for convenient offers. Yet, if the initial trauma of the misleading name is overcome, Etnapolis turns out to be a very respectable shopping centre. The size of the spaces, the variety of shops and the presence of numerous refreshment areas make it a point of reference for shopping and leisure in the province of Catania. The architecture, while not in the least reminiscent of a polis, is modern and functional, with well-lit rooms and a distribution of spaces that favors usability. The commercial offer is wide and ranges from large clothing chains to technology stores, from supermarkets to refreshment points, with a selection that can satisfy every need. Furthermore, the presence of a cinema and areas dedicated to entertainment make it an interesting destination for those looking for an evening of leisure in addition to shopping. However, there remains a bitter taste in the mouth for a name that, with its epic ambitions, generates expectations that are irremediably disappointed. Etnapolis is not a polis. It has no walls, no streets, no squares crowded with philosophers and merchants. It's a shopping mall, and nothing more. An excellent shopping centre, yes, but which carries on its shoulders the weight of an identity that does not belong to it.

The department store is great. However, the toilets leave a lot to be desired...very unhygienic...some toilet paper not available...disaster You have to think twice about whether you should go to the toilet. Very unfortunate

It is very well structured with large underground or top car parks. There are many shops for all levels. It's a shame that the complexes adjacent to the gallery can only be reached by going outside, therefore in the cold and in the rain in winter or in the heat and scorching sun in summer

Etnapolis is a fairly complete shopping centre, ground floor and first floor. You can shop, eat or go to MC or cinema. In recent years, however, many shops have closed. Also great for just taking a walk or doing some shopping given the presence of a supermarket
