On a grey day, I was strolling through the centre of Bolzano and stopped at this place for a quick lunch. Luckily, I found a free table. I ordered quickly, but the waiters were a bit stressful; there was no time to waste either ordering or letting you go. The menu is tourist-friendly, but what I ate was quite good. Prices are reasonable if you choose carefully, otherwise they're very expensive.
We had a very good meal here. The price/performance ratio was fine for us. Our waiter was very attentive. One or two of the waiters who brought or served the food weren't in the best mood. This didn't bother our group, at least, but it could be improved. Therefore, only four points for service, but the overall experience for us, a group of seven, was absolutely fine. Considering it's a restaurant in the heart of the city, you can do it and it shouldn't be a disappointment. It worked perfectly for us, hence five points.

Delicious lunch. Very generous portions and good food. The service is friendly and fast. Prices are average, but in proportion to the quantity and quality, they're low! Highly recommended!

Forsterbräu is a restaurant/brewery owned by the well-known South Tyrolean beer brand Forst, so we felt it was a must-try during our visit to Bolzano.
Considering its status as a brewery, the food is excellent, both the first and second courses (the goulash is truly delicious), as are the beers (obviously all Forst), of which there is a great selection (all those marketed by the aforementioned brand). The beer-based amaro they produce is also really good: light and not too alcoholic, a perfect finish to a meal.
The price is fair, in line with what we ate.
A recommended stop here in Bolzano.

A typical South Tyrolean restaurant. Excellent service and friendly staff, making you feel right at home. I've eaten there several times and have always had the pleasure of enjoying delicious dishes. Among the most popular are dumplings, ribs, and speck, all washed down with excellent Forst beer, of course.
It's definitely worth a stop.

I don't quite understand some of the rather negative reviews. Those expecting fancy gourmet cuisine certainly have other options in Bolzano. Here, however, you get what you'd expect from a brewery restaurant: fresh beer, delicious schnitzel, and other home-style dishes of very good quality. The staff is also very attentive, so you'll want to have more than one glass. The location in the heart of Bolzano's hustle and bustle is also ideal for people-watching. Overall, highly recommended.

I went with my family. The atmosphere was nice and well-kept, and the food was good value.
Excellent service. Everyone was courteous and professional, and very fast.

Beautiful location. We had chanterelle mushroom ravioli and tagliatelle with venison ragout. The food was delicious. The service was very good.
