07/07/2025: We really enjoyed our lunch here at Barcaccia. With a smaller group we sat upstairs with amazing views and cool decor. Our food was pretty on the plate and tasty. The service was very good and attentive. After reading some of these negative reviews I often wonder how awful it is working with tourists. While we were there we over heard a couple demanding to be sat, fed quickly and then only chose a few cheap items and chronic complaining. I can’t imagine what the rent must be with a location like this. Yes, the gelato is going to be expensive, look at the location. But it’s tasty and sweet. We enjoyed salads, pasta and fabulous Hugo’s. I bring groups to Rome every year and I happily return here too. For other reviewers please stop complaining about paying for an expensive gelato at the foot of the Spanish Steps - 🙄 you’re in Rome ITALY!!
