As a Pugliese DOP and DOC, who was weaned not from milk but from mussels, it was a surprise to eat in this FISH Bar which has something to teach some restaurateurs from Polignano a Mare and Monopoli.
Of course, the furnishings and the environment you find are initially compensated for by the availability and smile of the owner Valerio. The truth is that this isn't enough to get 5 stars...you have to amaze me with the rest!! when you see the preparation of the dishes, their explanation in a direct and concise way, and you bring that slice of seafood or fish to your taste buds, and you learn to close your eyes, a sea breeze caresses your back, the Adriatic flows through your taste buds and you start to slow down the chewing of food to make that moment last longer and longer.
Fresh and very good seafood, the result of careful selection;
Raw mussels (oh my goodness);
Peppered mussels…..well cleaned and cooked to perfection…. Well done chef!!
Everything else is a crescendo of flavors and combinations with seasonal vegetables.... While the combination of the prawn tartare with original Sardinian bottarga is something brilliant;
Animal rights activists will hate me, but that live crab that you see pan-fried and cooked with linguine and fresh pachino tomatoes (great portion)….makes me enjoy enjoy enjoy.
I didn't have the opportunity to taste any wine or champagne as I was traveling and had to travel another 500 km on the motorway. The product was present in the display fridge.
In Puglia, I pay for a dinner like this (quality and quantity) between 250 and 350 euros per person.
Here I paid very little compared to the fresh product and the preparation of the dishes.
I came to this place thanks to the iBarbari advertisement on the story of the "700 shrimp"... and it intrigued me!!
This review is my thanks to a culinary moment that I haven't experienced in a while.
I will return with colleagues when I am in Rome.... To make them eat Apulian food even if they are not in Puglia.

Excellent service, helpful, friendly and efficient staff, dishes according to expectations: worth trying... another plus is the location... unthinkable to find a place like this in the castles.

Really excellent fish restaurant! Lots of variety of dishes, above average quality, right portions and informal environment, the chef cooks tasty so if you want to eat more tastelessly, let the wait staff know! Choice of dishes of the day and fish! Prices maybe a little high but the quality rewards!
