Espressamente Illy In Trieste

Today I stopped by this delightful downtown café with a friend and my almost one-and-a-half-year-old daughter. The entire staff was incredibly kind. I was busy making an important phone call, and my friend was playing with her to distract her daughter, and of course, the little girl made the usual racket they do at that age. Well, with a huge smile and a lot of serenity, they reassured me when I apologized for the mess, and they even interacted with the little girl with such joy. They gave me a much-needed moment of joy. We'll definitely be back, just a little less noisy (I promise). A very sweet girl at the counter even earned a flying kiss from my daughter, who never gives one so easily, and that filled my heart. We only had two coffees, but we took away a small, simple, and beautiful moment of joy. Thank you so much to all the staff and congratulations on the wonderful atmosphere you create together!

Coffee is good but there is no changing table for babies even though there is enough space in the toilet. Also the music was too loud.

A small but well-organized place. The staff is elegant, friendly, and helpful. Illy coffee is always a hit. I ordered a tall espresso in a large cup, and it was perfect, with those acidic notes of the Arabica that linger long after you've left. A perfect post-lunch coffee.

A hop over the border for a drop of fine Illy coffee in Trieste ☕️ Caffè Estivo… I had my first taste of this gorgeous beverage today. When ordering, I asked for a recommendation - and the girl that works there, like an arrow released from a bow, immediately said: Caffè Estivo. So what is it? It’s a “summer coffee” from Italy (though even in late November its magic didn’t fade): an espresso topped with whipped cream and a generous crown of foam. Sweet, airy, indulgent. And oh boy, was it foamy indeed. My first spoonful dipped into that thick, mousse-like layer… I didn’t stir much, not wanting to collapse the air. And the taste was spectacular - the foam teasing the taste buds while the espresso came through intensely. A feeling to return to. So yes… Trieste. Next time, I’ll definitely be back for more.
