Located in Origgio, this Uruguayan cuisine restaurant was born from the experience of the national stand at the Milan Expo, bringing with it the best of Uruguay's gastronomic tradition. The atmosphere is welcoming and the service is quick, thanks to an always courteous and helpful staff, ready to satisfy every customer request.
The menu is a true journey into Uruguayan flavours, with a selection of meat-based dishes that represent the heart of local cuisine. Meat lovers will find various options, from succulent grilled meat to raw meat, with fine cuts and authentic preparations. Among the specialties, parrilla, chorizo and chicken stand out, all prepared with the highest quality ingredients which testify to the attention to the raw material. There is no shortage of empanadas, which are equally delicious and perfect to start the meal.
The portions are generous, ensuring excellent value for money. To accompany the dishes, the restaurant also offers a selection of Uruguayan beers, perfect to complete the dining experience. In summary, this restaurant represents an unmissable stop for those who want to savor the true flavors of Uruguay in a welcoming and informal environment.

Located next to the Novartis in Origgio, it is a typical restaurant housed inside the Uruguay pavilion at Expo 2015.
Few tables well spaced from each other make it necessary to book at least on the weekend. During the week it is easier to find a place without a reservation, but for a maximum of 4 people.
The restaurant is well looked after both internally (exposed embers!!) and externally and the staff are really friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable.
The food is delicious and the portions generous. Meat and vegetables are cooked just right. Very tender. For the second courses it is possible to choose between 4 different cooking levels, to satisfy even the most difficult palates.
Another positive note: it is possible to have a doggy bag prepared with the leftovers.
The waiting times between ordering and the arrival of the dishes are very short.
Average prices (28€/each for a starter, a second course and a bottle of water).
I recommend getting the Brochettes, but all the dishes looked inviting.
I returned after years and I must admit that the quality has not decreased in the slightest, in fact I think it has improved!

In recent years, El Primero di Origio had made a name for itself for its excellence, especially the quality of its meats and impeccable service. Unfortunately, after my last visit, I have to note that the situation has changed and no longer for the better.
Meat, once the undisputed protagonist of the menu, now no longer meets expectations. What was once tender, tasty and perfectly cooked, today seems to have lost its luster. Cooking is often imprecise, and the quality of the raw materials does not reflect the prestige that El Primero boasted in the past. A great shame, considering that the restaurant had built its reputation on meat.
Even the service, once attentive and professional, seems to have slipped towards a certain inattention. Waiting times have increased and, despite the kindness of the staff, the attention to detail that previously made every guest feel special is missing.
El Primero was a point of reference for many, but today the quality no longer lives up to the name it bore. I hope that this is just a transition phase and that the restaurant will soon return to the standards we were accustomed to.

Uruguayan restaurant, the service is good but the waiting times for the dishes are medium-high. The à la carte menu is not very varied, but the quality of the food is excellent.
Prices above average.

We had dinner sharing a mixed grill, all very good cuts of meat accompanied by roasted potatoes.
For wine we chose a Uruguayan wine suitable if you are drinking it for the first time, and it was a great choice.
The desserts are also of excellent quality.
An experience worth repeating and definitely recommended.
