And after reading a couple of reviews that comment on the prices, deeming them high, it should be explained to these gentlemen that there, as in many mountain places, obtaining raw materials has on average higher costs. Ps the staff was very courteous

We stay in Penia just 2 nights, it is sugested to make reservation,we dine here both evenings 4 people.....as we were very happy with food....traditional pasta and pizza were top👍...simple restaurant with excelent friendly,kind,profesional service....speaking deutch,english...I can definitly sugest and I would for sure come back....♥️💯

The best pizzeria with restaurant in the Canazei area, ensure quality, courtesy and honest prices. Located in the hamlet of Penìa, in a quiet position with convenient parking. In front there is a beautiful path along the stream, with an old sawmill (see photo), excellent for an easy "digestive" walk.

The first evening we entered a little intimidated... we didn't know if we had to book, Andrea welcomes us, a kind, easy-going, friendly and competent person. He won us over with his culinary advice, the off-menu dishes and from the first evening we felt welcomed, as if we were family or friends. We stayed in Penia for 10 days and stayed with them for 9 evenings. Every evening we asked Andrea "what are you making us eat tonight?" The red wine risotto, the braised venison, the platter, venison with mushrooms and polenta, the strudel which I don't usually eat, I devoured it there! The herbal bitters are delicious 😋 we practically finished them 🤣 Excellent quality food! You can feel the love for cooking in every course. The place is welcoming and very well looked after. I recommend you book if possible! The lady, the owner, was too nice, she always mistook me for a German and I miss evenings out smoking cigarettes with her or Nicolò... Nicolò is a very nice guy, quick, efficient... "Nicolò doesn't touch me wine"! I always told him not to let me clear the table right away🤣 Then there is Ester, another employee, very sweet, fast and very good. In short, at Panarel you eat very well, you feel welcomed into the family and you leave there with a smile. Thank you guys so much for making our holidays even more pleasant. We'll be back...I promise. A hug from Rome.

Pearl on our route. We were looking for a restaurant and not an upgraded pizzeria. We found it in the middle of Penia, directly opposite the lift. Being crazy Dutch people, we of course arrived way too early for the 'real' food, but the waiter (and I think also the owner to be honest) was the friendliest to speak to us. As it turned out, from 5:00 PM only pizza and from 6:30 PM we could order other food. After some deliberation (the children were already hungry...) we decided to sit on the terrace and have a drink until it was time. There was something to nibble on with the food and he had the children with it in no time 😜. extensive choice of food, superb. My wife had a delicious entrecote, I have never had them that big in the Netherlands, the Wienerschnitzel (I immediately regretted seeing the entrecote) was also very tasty! Children ate tasty pasta. An extra point: the rare entrecote was also rare instead of the catering rare (which is actually medium). We had a very nice meal and then returned with the last bus. We would love to come back here!

Op onze eerste dag in Italië gingen we voor een echte pizza. In dit restaurant worden deze vers bereid. Deeg uitrollen, ronddraaien, opmaken en de steenoven in. Onze pizza's waren dan ook heerlijk en we hebben zeer lekker gegeten. Als je in de buurt bent, een dikke aanrader.
