The old Edelweiss Hut was completely replaced this year by a new building, making the previous reviews obsolete. The modernist new building, a combination of wood and glass and a rooftop viewing platform, is largely successful, and the cakes and latte macchiatos are still delicious. The new voucher system for using the restrooms is clearly in need of improvement: if you consume something and then want to use the restroom (€1.00), the voucher is of little use, and the limitation of voucher usage to one voucher per person/product is completely incomprehensible. If you need to use the restroom multiple times—which is certainly possible—you can only redeem one voucher per product—but hey, that's completely unacceptable (> hidden price increase) and has led to a price reduction.

Not much to say about the ‚atmosphere‘ in the rating, it doesn’t get any better than this. A very friendly waitress served us cake, and camomile tea. The restaurant at the summit.

We waren hier langs gereden omdat we geen tolwegen wilden. Het is makkelijk om te parkeren. Voor de plek een mooie kaart en lekkere koffie. Heel vriendelijk en relaxte bediening.

Top-notch service, plentiful, delicious food. We'd gladly go back!

My motorcycle season kicked off on February 22, 2025! And like every year, I started with a tour to the Jaufen Pass! The roads were partly dry and well-ridable. The new section, which they repaved last year, already shows some severe damage (potholes, cracks). Nevertheless, it was another beautiful tour. Arriving at the Jaufen Pass, I couldn't believe my eyes – where is the Edelweiss Hut?!?!? But see for yourself...
